This replaces my previous Long-Ma character, if you've seen here anywhere. Same backstory, new mythical creature. Crisis Chrysanthemum is a Ya-Zi, a Chinese wolf-dragon that is placed on the hilts of swords and axes and such to make them stronger (or at least cooler). Actually I don't know if Ya-Zi was a singular entity or a race of creatures descended from the original Ya-Zi.
