My left eye is still giving me trouble, some days are worse than others, but today after cleaning house and dealing with some personal issues, I decided to go back to the shading method I planned on using for a Tikal Commission and test it on an old sketch to see if I could get the SA2 inspired yet lineless look that I wanted. I'm really happy with how it turned out, especially considering what i've been contenting with. If there's any good that came out of my eye injury, it was learning the importance of good values because when you're unable to see values, it doesn't really matter how colorful the object is, telling where it is in space becomes super problematic. I may try driving again in a safe area this weekend but that depends on how I'm feeling tomorrow. Meds seem to be aiding with some of the inflammation but I didn't want to risk messing up commissioned work testing something new out. Honestly, It kinda feels like my usual "flat" style but leveled up with more confident shading instead of an over reliance on soft shading and/or over blending in an attempt to hide a weakness with understanding value and form. but boy howdy, will a malfunctioning eye make you rethink how you approch form and visual data, especially in traffic or when working. I hope everyone is having a good holiday week, this will probably be the last Sonic related work that isn't commissioned for a while, for those that follow my twitter rants, i've been rethinking alot about my self and my work and am currently still trying to find stable housing and what not so my attention has been pulled in far to many directions to go into here. but hopefully i'll hear some good news soon about a home or my eye or something. but it's late and i'm super tired, but you can get the wallpaper pack on gumroad. Thanks for the support through these past couple of years. it really means a lot and right now i'm just hoping to heal both physically and mentally so I can move on and do bigger and better things. the next few uploads will be the commissioned works that have already been paid for and from there we'll just go with the flow until i know more about my housing situation and health stuff. also, i apologize for the lack of spell check. kinda just came on and spilled my emotions onto the keyboard but honestly, i spent all day painting a bloated amy while cleaning house and doing other stuff so i'm kinda beat and just didn't feel like bothering for the usual formal stuff.
