i personally made this in 'Paint'! at some points, pixel-by-pixel. it took 2 days to make. i'm hoping to see some positive feedback

Doesn't hit like a bomb should.

When I think of a nuclear bomb, I think gray. I think fire. I think smoke. I think destruction. You've got all of that, but there's no oomph to the piece. It doesn't resonate with the viewer. What you need to create is an emotion to go with the piece.

Consider the evil of what dropping a nuclear bomb entails. Innocent people are going to die. Drawing an injured civilian can do a lot if done well. The grass should be on fire, and there should be a crater in the landscape. Darkness should be covering the sky, blanketing the city in ash. The picture as it stands looks like a particularly bad tornado combined with a small forest fire, not an apocalyptic disaster.

Like I said, you've got all the ingredients to make a great piece. What happened is that you mixed them incorrectly. There is far too much green and blue, natural, peaceful colors. Browns, reds, oranges-- they all communicate distress. Consider making one building a centerpiece. I like what you did with the broken skyscraper. Put more detail into the buildings; they shouldn't just be rectangles with smaller rectangles in them. Take a look at the New York skyline for inspiration.

You can do it.

Well, the image doesn't look too interesting. The landscape looks too bland and there hardly isn't anything that requires tii much artistic talent.

Then I read in the comments that you made part of the picture pixel-by-pixel. Well, this sure changes a lot. It's much harder to pixel an image than to simply draw it with a brush tool or a line tool.

Aynway, the picture could still use some work. For example the windows somteims aren't lined up correctly, which does look a bit weird.

Also, that "fallen off" piece of that one building seems to be too wide to really fit on the rest of the building still standing.

Overall, the picture is decent (especially considering the fact you pixeled some parts of it), but on the other hand (not taking the pixel-work into account) it also leaves a lot to be desired, as the landscape does look kind of boring.

While your effort is admirable, it seems like there's a ton of stuff missing from this to make it overly interesting, and I can spot some parts where there are discolored pixels still in the image. It's good for Paint, but really if you wanted to make something cool you probably shouldn't be using paint at all...

The buildings look okay, and to be honest the flames look great. The smoke cloud is legit, and the burning debris is pretty convincing too. The problem I see is the lack of space usage. Most of the image is a blank green field, which is just an odd setting for the tall skyscrapers to be in. I could see if there were roads and people and cars, but it looks like some buildings in the middle of nowhere.

The sun was a nice touch, but the rest of the sky looks rather barren. I think some clouds would have been nice, or maybe some more smoke from the explosion. It's also a bit confusing what is causing all the chaos. There's a huge explosion to the right of the buildings, but I'm not really sure if that was a bomb or a fallen building. I don't see any planes that could have dropped the bombs, or any roads for a terrorist to have reached the city. It could obviously use some more art to give it a better theme in my opinion.

Overall what you have here looks good so far, but seems to be lacking a lot to make a complete picture of a nuclear holocaust. Keep at it though.

Yeah, you're right. My only motive fr the effort was pure boredom. I made it months before i decided to post it.

Here's what to do

This is a good rough draft for a picture, but it's not the best. Not to insult you, but you can do better. If you want, you can look at the tutorials here on the website.
