Here's my first attempt at using ink and pencil together... I think it went pretty well. I realize the proportions of the face are off- this is intended. And please view in full size.

Looks cool.

1) I can tell the proportions of the face are meant to be off - don't worry about that one.

2) Always be careful with ink - there's really no "second chance" with it. Ithink you've used it effectively here because you used it ONLY for the darkest darks - the pitch black areas. Well done.

3) I think some areas should have some more darks around them: specifically the outside of the philtrum possibly on both sides (bonus points if you know what that is without using google). Plus the bottom of the nose feels like it should be more developed (the bottom plane of the nose). It looks straight on, but the mask and the mouth somehow feel like they have more stable form than the nose.

Otherwise, not bad. The usual kudos I would give are more principles associates with realism, I just haven't got much criteria in my own mind to say "good job" on - so I just want you to know that I think this is a good piece overall.

Thank you. Now that I look at it again, the nose does a bit underdeveloped...

Fantastic

Very interesting choice using ink and pencil, ive never really thought about combineing the two together. Your work is brilliant, you have alot of talent and im sure you will go far.

1600 responds:

I saw somebody using both and it allows for a nice contrast if you can use the ink sparingly enough

Keep up the great work

Love you stuff, great realistic feel. Just be sure to keep the picture safe so the pencil doesnt smear

1600 responds:

:) thank you
