Medals

I am literate - Spend more than 12 seconds on the first tutorial - 25 points
Just leave it at the first tutorial screen for over 15 seconds (just to be safe) and you get it when you exit the tutorial. I am illiterate - Spend less than 5 seconds on the first tutorial - 10 points
Skip the first tutorial straight away. Note well: You can therefore get only one or neither of these medals as it is only on your first game. If you have never played before, open two instances of the game to get both by skipping one tutorial very quickly, and waiting on the other till the 12 seconds have passed Master of time and space - Pause the game - 5 points
Self-explanatory. Infertility - Get a game over - 5 points
Die in the main game. Hanging in there - Regenerate a total of 10 health bars over the game - 25 points
Get this in one run through any mode. It's possibly best to get hurt and heal yourself in level 4 because you can either die or complete level 5 easily if you are doing this in story mode. Backfire - Destroy an enemy by deflecting a projectile at it - 10 points
Pretty simple, you should be doing it all the time. Mega combo - Get a 20+ combo - 10 points
Most easily done in the minigame Grenade Juggler. See the minigame walkthrough for help. Tankicular homicide - Squish a pedestrian by pushing a tank over it - 10 points
Push a tank (level 4 or 5) into one of the soldiers. Toast master - Kill 10 enemies with the zeppelins laser'' - 25 points
Use your tail whip to flip the laser turret of the zeppelins (level 5) towards the ground. It'll probably be achieved through normal gameplay without bothering to flip the laser turret. Cavalier of sperm - Beat story mode - 50 points
See the story mode walkthrough for help. You can get this by continuing the game from level select. Seed of destruction - Beat story mode on hard - 100 points
This isn't too much harder than easy mode, especially with the healing strategy mentioned in the story mode walkthrough. It works from using level select to level 4 and setting the difficulty to hard, but not for level 5. Pedestrian devestation - Get a score of 100 in Pancake Factory - 50 points

You get this as soon as you start the custom game with only jets set. Looking for a challenge - Survive 10 minutes in Custom Mode with all units set at maximum intensity - 25 points
Move the lever down to set it to maximum intensity, but it can be any difficulty so set it to easy. Use the healing strategy mentioned in the story mode walkthrough. Be aware that this time depends on how fast your computer is, so could take anything between 10 and 18 minutes to actually achieve.

Story mode

This is the main game mode, and beating it will unlock the minigames.

Level 1

Target score: 500 points (5 civilians)
Civilian: Harmless ground enemy (100 points).

Use this level to get used to the game mechanics: see how accelerating and spinning works. Simply squish 5 civilians to beat this.

Level 2

Target score: 6,000 points
Helicopter: Relatively slow air enemy with poor manoeuvrability. Fire heat-seeking missiles (250 points).
Bazooka Soldier: Ground enemy which fires relatively slow bazooka shells (250 points)

Deflecting any projectile gets you 10 points. Only deflected projectiles can damage enemies, with tanks only beatable with deflected projectiles. Hitting it again for a combo gets you 20 points, increasing by 10 points per hit. Max is 200 points for a 20 hit combo, with every consecutive hit getting 200 points. Ram into helicopters and deflect projectiles. Generally stay away from the ground - deflected projectiles usually end up there in any case to defeat those enemies. Remember that your head can be hurt by normal and deflected projectiles, as well as air enemies you have attacked with your tail.

Level 3

Target score: 20,000 points Jet: Fast air enemy with high manoeuvrability. Fires stronger heat-seeking missiles (500 points).
Grenade soldier: Ground enemy who fires grenades which explode after a certain time or on contact with ground/ enemies after being deflected (250 points).

Same strategy as before. An alternate strategy to flying into air enemies and deflecting projectiles is to stay in place and simply use your tail to deflect all projectiles and any nearby enemies.
Healing strategy: Note that if you are low on health, go to roughly 3/4 the way up the area and fly horizontally, boosting if necessary. You can use this strategy to restore health on every level.

Level 4

Target score: 50,000 points
Tank: Ground enemy which can only be defeated with deflected projectiles but which can be pushed onto soldiers. Fires tank shells which are more powerful bazooka shells (500 points).

Same as before, noting that if you are high enough you won't see any bazooka or tank shells.

Level 5

Target score: 75,000 points
Zeppelin: Slow air enemy with dangerous revolving laser beam. The cannon can be deflected with the tail but not destroyed. The laser destroys other enemies and can be likewise destroyed with even non-deflected projectiles (2500 points).

Easier than the previous level because if you run from the zeppelins they will eventually be destroyed from friendly fire.

Now all of the minigames will be unlocked.

Minigames


Pancake Factory

Squish as many civilians as possible within 60 seconds.

Fly along and bounce of their heads or hit them with a tail spin. Fly low but horizontally above the pedestrians' heads, steering down to hit them, further down to slow down and hit nearby ones, or back to horizontal and boost to get to the next crowd. When the crowd size increases, brake (otherwise you will head away from the ground when spinning) and do a 360 degree tail whip near the ground and then continue to the next crowd. The medal is now possible (spawn rates seem to have been increased) to achieve, and is not particularly difficult.

Grenade Juggling

Keep grenades in the air for combos within 90 seconds.

To get combos, fly horizontally with your tail pointing horizontally towards the nearest grenade soldier. You need to fly forward and hit it up as much as you can. Either use your tail and flick it forwards (difficult), bounce it off your head (but never the front or it'll travel too far), or angle your tail slightly up so it rolls to your head and bounces up. I race to the right of the first grenade soldier, and catch a grenade in my tail. Pointing slightly downwards, the grenade rolls to my head and bounces off. If it goes too far then accelerate, if it goes to the back of your tail, give it a little flick. Try and avoid doing other grenades when doing a combo as more than two on your tail tend to make some fall off.

Note that grenades explode close to the ground and squishing soldiers slows you down, which is important as this method will keep you near the ground. A slightly annoying glitch is when a grenade falls through an area between your head and the tail, but hopefully it shouldn't happen too often.

For the medal, get a combo of close to 50 with one grenade or a combo of close to 15 with two grenades. Any extra points for under the combo should arrive from other deflections and small combos.

Missile Crisis

Survive for as long as possible from more powerful, faster heat-seeking missiles.

There are 2 strategies for doing this:
  • The first is to fly horizontally so they all chase you in one direction. If some are too close for comfort, just flick them lightly with your tail. If there are a few, slowly turn so they all get deflected forwards at an angle while you're facing backwards. Continue spinning and go the way you were, and they will overshoot you.
  • The second strategy is to keep your body to the ground and deflect them with your tail. They go further if they bounce off the ground, but you are more vulnerable to attack at certain times. Always remember that if you get hit to use the explosion to help you go further. And you might as well set the difficult to easy to regenerate health quicker.
