Newgrounds Wiki: FPA: Sneak Peek

4 Medals (105 points)

The Fancy Pants Adventures is coming to XBLA and PSN this Spring, but until then, here's a preview of Fancy Pant's 3rd adventure, starting in his hometown, Squiggleville. Check out all of Fancy Pants Man's new moves, including wall running and swimming!

The Challenges

Other than running around in the new world of Fancy Pants, you can play 2 challenges to get yourself some tasty medals. These challenges are the Squiggleville MicroTrail and the Sciencey Challenge Room.

Squiggleville MicroTrail

The MicroTrail is a trail of coins that you must follow. You must collect the coins in the order you encounter them, you can't skip any.
The MicroTrail starts at the spring with the counter underneath it. It is near the beginning. Once you jump on the spring. The coins appear and the counter starts. The 5-pointer should be easy to get, the 25-pointer might take a bit of pixel-perfect jumping.

Sciencey Challenge Room

The Science Room is found a bit further in the game. When you've passed the hill with the oil, walk a bit further until there's a cave underneath you. Go in there and you'll find the Science Room.
The point of this challenge is to score as many points as possible. You do this by performing all sorts of tricks, such as sliding, backflipping and wallrunning. If you keep doing these things without walking to much, your combo will go up, resulting in more points. Here's some stuff you need to know.
  • When you land on the ground, do not walk, but slide to keep your combo up. When your slide is almost over, jump up.
  • There's a bug that makes your score counter display NaN sometimes. When this happens, you can start over since this score is not legitimate.
  • After getting to 500000 points (even while still in a combo) your combo tends to stop whenever you climb a wall, so when you get to that mark stop climbing walls.
  • When you get to an amount of points that you're satisfied with, stop moving and stand still until the time is up. This lowers the chance of getting NaN.
