Newgrounds Staff Comment:Despite the fact that this submission was just recently put on the front page, it is not a re-submit - it's the original classic from back in 2003!

This is my first all-Flash anime short, and first submission to any site like this.

This is not broad comedy -- it is intended for a literary audience, specifically fans of the writings of H.P. Lovecraft. If you are not such a person and watch this anyway, you may want to read this first before you write a review.

"So Spaketh the Slaughterer"

That was...delightfully disturbing. I've never thought Cthulhu was so cute and cuddly while being so creepy and awesome at the same time in my life till now. The animations were well done and the voice acting just so befitting of the anime style. Overall you executed this beautifully and clearly have a grasp of the art of animation. I specifically love Lovecraft banging his head against the lid of his coffin at the end. That was an awesome touch.

I am personally not a fan of Lovecraft but I at least am aware of his work and have read a few of his stories. Something about his writing style I just find hard to read, and this is coming from someone used to dealing with E.A. Poe who has a similarly wordy and occasionally drawn out style. I have a respect for Lovecraft regardless of the time I have with him and I have a love for his creation of Cthulhu and the other gods in his mythos.
