Most bugs and changes are out of the way now and i have removed site locking.
I think i have finally found a way around the annoying flash player crashing problem please let me know if it still crashes.
Rebalanced some cards and changed the default deck

Added another card to make building strategies more feasible
i will attempt to do some re-balancing later and teach the AI to use the new card

Castle wars 2.5 is a turn based strategic card game with game mechanics similar to games in the same genre as Heart Stone and Magic, but its simpler and with fewer cards making it easy to learn.

The game contains a campaign where you conquer islands belonging to the different tribes of the game to unlock new cards and achievements. It also features a multi-player part where you can play against people from all around the world testing your decks and skills.

(This is a strange Flash player bug, an nothing i can do much about)

[Note form the author]

It’s now 10 years since I made the first castle wars game (writing this makes me feel old!).
What started out as just a weekend experiment to see if I could make my own clone of a little game called Ants turned out to become a hugely popular game.

The Sequel also became popular but never reached the same hype, I guess I did some bad design decisions along the way. In Castle Wars 2.5 I have tried to take the best from both games and merge them into one, I really hope I did things right this time, and hopefully both Cw1 & Cw2 fans can enjoy this blend of the two.

PS. While the Multi-player part is perfectly playable it’s still work in progress, I just wanted to get the game released for the 10 year anniversary

Hope you enjoy the game!

Ugly, unreadable and boring Arcomage? Also it's very buggy. "Original castle wars" - nice oxymoron ;)

m0rkeulv responds:

Not sure if you read the description but I clearly states that it started out as a clone of Ants.

Ants is also clone of Arcomage and as with loads of web games the concept and gameplay originates from older games. I just want to make it clear that I have never claimed it to be an original concept or idea.

It’s quite common in the gaming industry to borrow ideas and concepts from the past. Just to give you some examples, miniClips Bubble Trouble is a Clone of Pang/Buster Bros and most Tower defense games got the idea/concept from community made Warcraft maps, heck even Dota 2 originates from Warcraft mods (DOTA 2 was made by Valve, Warcraft by Blizzard).

I can’t do much about the fact that you think it’s ugly but I can fix bugs, so please do report them and I’ll try to fix them as soon as I have the time.

Everytime it crashes (often as named at the final island) a Virus(Trojan: Exploit-SWF.y) is downloaded to the computer.
Maybe this helps you to find the "bug"

Let me assure you there is no virus or anything like that in the game, viruses that used to be spread using flash had to crash the flash player in order to get out if the flash player and onto a computer, i am guessing your antivirus is picking up this crash as a warning sign that something like that could be happening, but as i said there's no such thing in this game. the bug is in the flash player and not the game so i don't think there's a way for me to easily fix it. but thanks for the heads up :)

It's a good game. It did crash for me at one point, but you were right when you said that everything would be fine after reloading the game. I played one of the earlier titles, and really only played this one because I had liked that other game.
It gets boring after a while to be honest. I'm almost done the easy play-through (after already completing the casual), and I'm not quite hooked.
I think that it has to do with balancing the cards. I am probably not doing it right, but I frequently have to discard cards. Not that this is necessarily a flaw, however.
I can't help myself from locking in my own play-style. I focus on trying to increase resource production, try to keep myself barely alive, and then just blast the enemy with ambushes and trojan horses.
4.5/5 only because the game can be very slow and is repetitive. I would say to add more card variety, but that is up to you.

Thanks for feedback :)

I'll take a closer look at the balance, start resources etc. this weekend.
i Might add a "magic bricks" card that gives 2x castle/wall build boost.

The game is good. The only problem I see is that some levels take too long because you don't get the right cards etc, and make you get bored. I was thinking of the game having an even easier mode where you get materials by discarding the cards. Maybe I am just bad at the game!

m0rkeulv responds:

If you get cards that you don’t usually care about try changing your deck in the deck manager :)

The default deck is there to expose new players for all the different cards, but most players I know (from multi –player games) tend to change their decks to a specific style.

Some like to focus on building and reaching 100 the fastest, others attacking and crush your opponent. Then there is the most annoying style in my opinion, the sabotage style. It’s all about blocking you from getting resources and workers while they slowly get more workers and resources than you and eventually crushes or out builds you.

Try playing around with the deck composition I am sure you will find a composition that will suite your way of playing :)

There's a bug where the character is riding on elephant on the north, east and south in the map section.

Great game anyways 5/5

m0rkeulv responds:

Thanks for 5 stars :)

Do you have any idea how i could trigger the bug ?
I would like to fix it but i need to be able to reproduce it in order to understand why it happens :)
