The objects are not recognizable, I was just randomly applying objects to things. If you open the painting without melting the wire, there is no way to exit the painting.

Nice but too short.

I really liked this game, but it could use some polish. Picking things up could be a bit of a pixel hunt at times, and game mechanics were a bit counter intuitive. For example, when I played there was no indication that I would have to do anything with the painting; having a message that gives the player a clue to look closer at important objects is very helpful, and provides continuity/a sense of logic in the game. Another moment where I succeeded just by persistence (trying everything with everything) was the pillow in the sink solution, it was just luck that I figured it out; in addition to that, a message about the numbers on the floor might have been helpful as well. One item where this was handled very well was the glasses. Providing a message saying they're as thick as magnifying glasses helps nudge the player towards the intended use of the item without giving it totally away. It would be nice if that sort of attention to detail was applied to the rest of the game.

That being said, I really liked the need to combine items and the logical but unique puzzle solutions (like the plunger on the loose tile, or the glasses on the candle). It's not the challenge of the game that's the problem, it just needs better definition between what is decoration and what is a part of the game, both in terms of graphics and game play. I love pixel art, but by design this style is not ideal for representing details. As such, you need to give the player a little more to go on- a good way to do that is with item and scene descriptions.

Not a bad attempt; this is all stuff you can fix for the next game, and I hope you do, as despite my suggestions I enjoyed this game and see future potential.
