Welcome to the twisted world of Anti Chess.

Anti Chess is one of the most popular variant of chess. The objective of the game is for each player to lose all their pieces.
Play this free fun game of Anti-chess on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod.

How to play?
The aim of the Anti Chess is to sacrifice your pieces. The game is setup on a chess board in the same order as traditional chess and plays the same way too, but with a few interesting rules :

1. When a player's piece is in a position to kill the opponents' piece, the player has to commit that move.

2. The game is over when one of the player has all of their pieces killed
The game is not over if the King is killed. There is no checkmate in Anti Chess

3. There is no castling

4. When a pawn reaches the end of the board, it gets promoted to a Queen

5. If there is a situation where no player can make any more moves, the player with the lesser number of chess pieces wins the game.

This game supports one player, where you play against a computer AI. It also supports two players (local PVP) mode.

This is available on lichess for sure, and maybe and ICC, but not 100% sure on that. Kind of makes this a waste. And as a chess player myself (a fairly strong one, 2100 USCF) this is one of the worst variants. 960 is the only one worth playing imo.

Pretty good. I love the concept and am curious how it affects the result of chess as a combinatorial game. Maybe there's a perfect strategy for reverse chess. Or assuming two perfect players, will either the first or second be at an advantage? Although, beyond conceptually, even on the highest difficulty, the computer is too easy.

That though about having the perfect strategy crossed our mind so we submitted this game to the Newgrounds + OpenAI - hopefully this would be able to produce predictable results within limited permutations and combinations, and be shared here with the community
If the AI is too easy, try the pass and play and challenge a buddy using the iOS version of the game - have fun!

Very fun! My friends love this game and I can sit here forever playing against a computer! It's challenging, and I love that about games. The music is also catchy.
