I Strongly recommend using a controller.
Pretty fun honestly, i think the sound effects are nice, i don't hear any music though, which is a small tidbit. The game is pretty responsive overall and i feel you've done quite well at making a difficult platformer.
I would definitely put in a brief movement message or tutorial, as it's always best to assume that your player may not know general platforming controls, and to know that people won't assume that your game necessarily uses them.
Overall, great game man, it was pretty fun!
Thanks! The lack of music was intentional(to make the player evaluate their life decisions that led them to this point), and as far as instructions. I guess I may just add in something later today, although I feel the player should adapt and learn the game's rules and mechanics. Thank you for your feedback!
Really could use instructions, like for instance, the second level, I had no idea how to get to the end due to not knowing the controls, with no way to get back to a menu, etc.
Arrow keys to move, space to jump, you can jump off walls.
It's a good first attempt, but there are no instructions, and it is kind of difficult.
Thanks for the feedback! I was trying to teach the player how to play through gameplay instead of written instruction (Because I hate written instructions in games), I guess maybe I should work on how I present new concepts to the player? Not sure, hopefully by the next game I can take what I've learned from here, and improve on it!
