WE BECOME WHAT WE BEHOLD
a game about news cycles, vicious cycles, infinite cycles

Wow, it's been eight years since I published :the game: right here, on Newgrounds! I'm never gonna make a direct sequel to that -- I think I ended that series on a good enough note -- but here you go, a short spiritual sequel to :the game:! A game with a message, dark humor, and silly hopping lil' peeps.

Thank you so much for playing! <3

It has been probably close to 8 - 10 years since i've added a game to my favorites on here, and you have broken that streak. this was beautifully done.

I dunno. I feel like this art-game kinda gives way too much credit to the media for causing conflict and completely ignores actual conflict and oppression that can and does result in violence. And the ending is a bit gauche, innit?

Like... if this is meant to be an accurate demonstration on Two Groups of People Hating Each Other, I'm having a hard time thinking of any kind of meaningful conflict that this is an allusion to; if this is meant to critique the concept of racial division, I have no problem with that, but to paint a history of colonialism, exploitation, and slavery as "two groups get mad at each other over nothing and then start killing in equal measures" is an extremely backwards view to take. Same for the conflict between men and women, cis people and trans people, straight people and gay people, people with and without disabilities, etc.

Of course, it's just my own point of view that art should have some grounding in reality in order to be good; art that you consider to be good is good to you because it elicits some kind of emotion in your reality meat-body; thus it does affect reality.

But the only emotion this elicits in me is confusion and distaste.
