Transformation 5 Points Complete the game.

Author Comments

This is a sequel to one of my previous games called "The Shovel" ► http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/673706

Instructions:
This is a little "walking simulator" type game. Just walk from screen to screen. Click objects to view them, and try to piece together what's going on.

Controls:
A / D - Move left and Right
W - follow pathways to new areas
Mouse - interact with objects

Thanks for playing !

This awesome, though I feel that receiving the medal before the ending could confuse someone and cause people to leave the game before the transformation actually happens. Also does this mean that the Shovel and this game, the Ritual, are prequels to Dead Detention 2 and Chronicle Bulletin?

JackAstral responds:

yup :)

Really like the game, lots of cool lore stuff. Better than the shovel, and connects Father Mason to Polaroids.

Have you ever thought about making a forum for people to discuss Universe .08?

JackAstral responds:

Definitely...I was thinking of maybe making a subreddit

I'll be honest: it's actually pretty good!
The atmosphere is dirty and obnoxious, i think this is a must for someone who came here to newgrounds for the first time!

The only thing that don't let it achive 5 star is that is too linear.
But sure as hell it's good. Has a lot of potential.

Keep it up man! ;)

Sure, there's plenty of lore to be found here (the location of Zone 0, Commander Dai's first name (at the mail box)), but it's not a lot better than The Shovel: you read some lore object, interact with others, you go to a place and that's it. There would have been a lot more substance if Death or something showed up at the end and gave some sort of speech, or even if there was any closing dialogue at all.

Here's the bigger question: why is Mason (aka the Moon King) an occultist? Did he drink the kool-aid at a young age and stay that way ever since? Does he have some grudge against God? I'll assume that's to be revealed in a later entry to Universe .08.

P.S. There was a glitch I ran into my first time through. After going downstairs from grabbing the knife, I couldn't move. Fortunately, I was able to move after clicking the letter from Clear Moon, but I'm not sure how exactly I got stuck in the first place.

JackAstral responds:

The reason that he's an occultist is in the game! Try looking harder around the bedroom :) (It might also help to check out the timeline)

If you combine these two games, and maybe some others, they form the entire origin of...a....certain...character...

Thanks for point that out- I've fixed that now :)
