Love the concept and connection to the universe, but it is pretty difficult to get all 20. The most I have gotten so far is 13, wish there was more time/flashlight; overall, it's fun and addicting.

This is a little story game I made.
Instructions:
Search the forest for clues- try to find all 20 before your flash light runs out.
You can get more details about the story by reading through the contents of the main character's phone, as well as by piecing together clues.
Controls:
Arrow or WASD Keys - Move
Mouse - Click objects to find them
Mouse - Click HUD Elements to Interact
Thanks for playing,
Jack.

Strange, you can`t use your mother`s lighter after the flashlight battery runs out.
Is this even possible to obtain 15 items within the time given, on all systems? I feel like he moves incredibly slowly and the flashlight battery drains incredibly quickly.
You really don't have time to investigate so it's mostly clicking on a few things you know where they are, but all the items seem to be located rather far apart from each other (exception of 4 items right at the start). And even if you're being as efficient as possible, I still feel like you run out of time before it's possible to get 15 (or maybe even 10?). Best I can do is 9, so I'm giving 10 at least benefit of the doubt.
I have a sneaking suspicion this game plays differently in regards to timing based on what OS you are using or what browser you are using which, if that's the case, isn't fair.
Yeah it's pretty easy once you know where everything is
I think there should be an ending where if you find all the clues, you get the idea that you're in way over your head and rush out of the park, but since as you said he has to die for it to be cannon, either you could show him standing at the start again and have someone get out of the car and kill him, or you could say that he comes back with some random kids from school who egg him on saying that he made it all up, the next night, thinking he'll be safe in a group they head out, then show a news headline 33 or w.e. number of students gone missing in the forest showing that 3 more kids are gone
This is actually one of your better actual games! I assume Slenderman was a major influence for making this one? This game sure shares a lot of similarities with Slenderman to say the least. My favorite part was that there's no "suddenly in your face scary thing" at the end, I hate those.
I wouldn't quite say there was a lot of entirely brand new lore here. We've already seen a lot of the Moon King and seeing the South Star Church mentioned here confirms my suspicion that The Shovel is part of the origin story for Clear Moon and/or its leader. And it looks like the burned chapel in this game is the same one from Oh Chapel.
So there's a lot of connections between your seemingly random works and the antagonist organization of your more popular works (Dead Detention for example), but how about those mysterious footprints? Does the Moon King/Dr. Mason/Mr. Noom (3rd one I assume is mostly fake) have a bestial form more powerful than his tall, black figure form that Max and Shia fought in the Dead Detention 2 finale or did those monster footprints come from something else entirely? Can only wonder at this point.
For those trying to find 15+ items, a few hints I can give are that there's 4 items at the starting area, nothing north of Atom's photo, 1 or 2 things a little ways south of the robe and 3 tombstones right next to each other that count as 3 things. Also, when viewing the messages on the smart phone, you can click them to get a closer look at them (I didn't figure that out right away).
