Alien hordes are on their way to Earth, and your ship has been sent to kill them off. Along the way all except for your left and right thrusters have failed, so you are unable to return to Earth - you are TrAPPED IN SPACE! But you still have horizontal movement, so you might as well go out in a blaze of glory! Destroy as many aliens and collect as many coins as you can to get the highest score. Earth is counting on you!

CONTROLS: Press SPACE or click the mouse button to shoot and change directions.

Fun Fact: This game was made in approximately 3 days.

Special Thanks to Waterflame for letting me use his awesome music in my game. Check out his Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/waterflame89

[EDIT] Now has background planets. I might add some other background stuff and a new enemy too.

The main mechanic of the game is that you are constantly moving in one direction, and shooting allows you to switch directions.
The music is awesome, and combined with the explosive feel of the game it made me feel like a boss.
I hardly ever felt like I was fighting the game's flow. There were times where I felt like I had to wrestle with the game, but for the most part I was able to just "go with the flow" of the game.
There are coins that can sometimes be picked up from killed enemies, but there is no store. Instead, all they do is add 5 points to your score.
There is no options menu. It doesn't matter much to me, but I imagine not even being given the option to change the volume of the music and sound effects or to lower or raise the quality of graphical effects might annoy some people.

Yeah, Waterflame's music is awesome. I love his music, and so much of it is perfect for use in games.
I am actually developing a new enemy that walks along platforms which rotate and float across the screen. The enemy shoots from the platform and then dives toward you when you shoot it enough times. I expect that will add more difficulty to the game.
At this time, I don't really plan on having a store where you can use your coins to buy upgrades or items, because I don't have a lot of spare time to spend on developing. If a good number of people play this game, then I might spend time to improve it with things like a store, upgrades, menu options, etc. But honestly, I don't expect many people to play it. We'll see... Thanks for all of your feedback. It helps me to improve. :)

Quite entertaining, do you expect to expand it with stages/power ups and a possible story mode? the mechanic is interesting for a game of this type.

HelpThePoor responds:

Hi, thanks. I'm making planets for the background which should be implemented soon. I also want to add a scoreboard but I'm having technical issues with that at the moment. That will probably be it for this version. I may make an expanded sequel to it later, but unfortunately right now I don't have the time to devote to an expanded version. Working to pay bills always comes first, unfortunately...

Awful controls.

HelpThePoor responds:

Sorry, it's meant to be a one-button (tapping) game like Flappy Bird, which also had awful controls. It's done intentionally so the game is challenging. Thanks for the feedback. :)
