Game made for the Ludum Dare 36.

Truelly WEIRD game about the *boring* life of a gas station attendant.

Idk if clicking the strings made the signal better. But that would've been cool.

For a game supposedly about the noise clearing there was no sound what-so-ever for me.

Everyone seems to be giving very negative reviews - message not clear, not quite a game. The latter is easily explained just by the fact that this goes into a different genre (many games really don't offer than many options or much interaction, like games that had great success where you just clicked or press enter to go through dialogue, but did little else).

In terms of the message being unclear, I have to disagree. There was a very clear correlation between the monotony of his job and noise, something which even starts to bug the player. Even if you want to try and be "nice", in the end, you feel like your only option is to end up shooting people. To me, that's the very idea - that even something that seems trivial like monotony can drive someone crazy, drive them to seek something different, even if they have options in terms of doing other things (the yo-yo, the guitar). You get to feel that, to feel the noise and monotony driving you to a choice you know isn't ideal just to see something different happen.

Great game overall.

I wish the game would tell you when it was over.

I reached the point in the game where I heard nice music, but no one else showed up at the gas station.

I also wish there was a point to the clue on the guitar. Sure you have the ability to keep pumping gas till you're so bored you start shooting people, but you gave us two other things to mess with. Earphones and a guitar. Though I like the interaction with the guitar, it's not clear why we need the earphones. In either case, we can't progress without turning on the radio.

58.3? Sure if I was able to switch channels. Is the objective to get to that channel? I noticed that the indicator shrinks towards a stronger signal everytime you shoot someone.

If there was another branch we could use....like say using the messages by the customers to justify a shooting or not...or perhaps going down a peaceful path, or the ability to dent the car/spill gas on a customer/serve them an extra item from the store/or tell them to leave altogether, then that would definitely add a level to this game.

Actually enjoyed this game. I love the concept that the more people you kill, the radio clears and you can hear the music playing.
