Puppet Rigging Tutorial

originally on youtube: https://youtu.be/x7DmbiZkYPI (you can check there for the annotations n stuff)

If you've ever wanted to learn some of the details of how a rig works, this'll tell you a lot.

I tried to make this as concise but as informative as possible. I was able to cut it down to 9 minutes while preserving all the important stuff.

Rigged work vs. hand drawn work is probably forever gonna be debated but even if you do more hand drawn stuff, it can be helpful to know what a rig is capable of.

Some plugins I use:
Janimation Tools (up to CS6) - http://www.artisanimation.com/flash-toolstutorials.html
Keyframe Caddy - http://cloudkid.com/tools/keyframe-caddy/
Zero transform - http://blog.pinkandaint.com/flash-jsfl-commands-fun-with-transforms/

You can watch the timelapse of this rig's creation here: https://youtu.be/dahjHEKmGmw

Now THIS is what I needed.

This video really helped a lot.

Short, but very informative with the bread and butter, great video Zedrinbot!

Huh.... The more you know.

Great tutorial!! FlashPowerTools has a lot of useful plug-ins for Flash, this might be an alternative to Zero Transform: http://flash-powertools.com/set-reg-point-to-transform-point/

ZedrinBot responds:

Bookmarking this! EDIT: It looks like this affects the anchor, not the orientation--which is actually still useful if you just need to edit one but don't want to reorient the item, which I've frequently needed to do.
