I like it! Needs music, better transitions, sound effects, etc., but after all its still in the Alpha

its kinda cute. the art its perfect, all it really needs is some music, and a little squeaky talking sounds for dialog like they have in animal crossing. I think there should be something that indicates when you can walk into another area or something. i also found a glitch where if you talk to one of cats ( i assume they are cats) what ever direction you faced in you are stuck like that until you jump. although it does look a little funny seeing a cat doing the moon walk . over all its looking really good for it to be in alpha =`o_o`= ( failed attempt to make a cat)

I'll admit that I have not played the original and it's a nice game so far, however, there are a few things that could use some fixing.
The first issue is that there doesn't seem to be any music or sound effects. Some background music and jumping sound effects would do so much for this game.
The second issue is the secret pathways; it's difficult to determine where they are and how big the openings are and the game didn't give any indication that there were hidden pathways to new areas so you're left wandering around the first screen until you discover them.

I noticed in the burrow that when you die you have to recollect items, this became frustrating after I collected them and then slipped of a platform several times.
The controls need some work. It's difficult to jump up the side of one wall and then have to jump to another, try having the character slide down the wall without the player having to press against it constantly.

The last thing I would mention is probably the platform placement, especially in the burrow, the platforms seems oddly distanced and it doesn't seem like a good idea to place a platform just out of view in a room that has no bottom. It would be beneficial to players if you could at least see the tip of the platform rather than being left to wonder if there's a platform below them.

The title says that this is an alpha and I've enjoyed it so far so I look forward to playing the completed game.

It looks pretty and controls well, my only complaint (and it is one that has made me mad) is that there is no indicator of when something will send you to another place, like the pit below the red flower was hell to get back over.
