what happens when you merge a bad premise, bad writing and a demo together? this.

cant judge it full as it might get better, but from the way it looks, story is meant to be complete shit which would be fine, if it wasnt a vn. all there is to do is read, and if that sucks, you have nothing. seems like it would have made a better rpg style game for the premise that it had. ah well.

The game have potential, but i found too many problems to give a higher score.
Art is good, but nothing that really stands out, background is pretty OK and the spaceship doesn't match at all with the rest.
The choices and the dialogue are pretty lame, even that all the choices matter, they doesn't tell anything about what really changed, what kind of impact had. But my main problem was that some images wouldn't appear, they just showed an empty edge with an X, like if the file wasn't even there. I don't know if it was proposital, but it's just too demotivating.

Not sure what you mean, by saying that some images won`t appear. I`ve just checked the whole demo after reading your comment and must confirm that all characters, backgrounds are in place, nothing is missing. Please, check your Internet connection, browser version of the demo heavily depends on your speed. Downloadable PC/MAC versions of Mass Game are available on Gamejolt site. Give it a try for better experience.

Hey, your art is quite good. Your ability to give us a believable lead that would exist in this sci-fi world, not so good. He says Dudes like its the 80s and hes a ninja turtle. He also claims no racism, then later calls all the vorcha ugly. LOL. its like.. this is written from a Meet'N Fuck game. If you're gonna borrow the setting, do something more with it...

Its obviously tailored for Mass Effect fans, but spends way to much time setting the scene up. If you've got ALL the options locked out of the demo, you're not really showing anyone that you can deliver on what they're likely buying it for.

As for your line "Every Choice matters", no, it clearly doesn't seem to effect this demo. Don't make the same mistake Bioware did! Scale it back to what you can do. If I have the guy wait instead of going to the club, make pirates or something happen to him, don't just... ugh.

Hello, dreamsfan
Thank you for playing the demo and sharing your impressions, much appreciated.

A few things should be addressed though, in order not to confuse other players.

1. As stated in the description of the game, EVERY choice matters. Every choice button, that player clicks, in fact adds or removes points, which the game engine summarizes at the end of the demo. If you click only negative answers and decide not to stay at the spaceport, you'll never get Quarian girl ending and/or Asari will reject the player, which results in the Lonely hero ending. That means your statement regarding absence of choice, is false.

2. Introducing players to the main hero and some lore elements is a good move, since some people have never played Mass Effect and have no idea what it's all about. Besides, this game demo is an RPG (not meet'n'f#ck), which means proper credits to the world and its inhabitants.

3. Vorcha are ugly, the whole galaxy knows that. Those who think otherwise are probably vorcha themselves. Just kidding! :D
