This was an animation assignment for a kids cartoon pilot me and my group worked on at the end of 2015. We were held to crazy ass deadlines and it was our first ever 3D animation so it might be a bit rough around the edges but the main concept is there. Hope you enjoy...

You should have seen what he did to get the leaves he was eating! He had it coming!

A quirky little cartoon.

The 3d modelling is pretty good. Except when it comes to Pekin, he lacks textures in some places that he could've needed, like his mouth. And his proportions are a bit off aswell, his head, neck and jaw are a little too big to suit his thin body.

The sounds are in need of improvement, and could use some leveling.

So as far as the plot goes, there is a time machine in a junkyard. And a flash light falls into the time machine. And then Pekin finds it and starts messing with it and turns it on. And then he found a dinosaur to use it on, so at night he shone in at the dinosaur to wake it up and then turned it off to put him to sleep again. How would he know that? Has he tested his theory before?

I liked it, but it's obviously aimed at kids.

Thanx for the comment.

Firstly, about the textures I agree that maybe they could've been improved if a little more time was allotted, on the character design however I'll have to disagree. We went with this design because we thought it captured Pekin's distinct quirky nature while still being stylistic and original.

On the plot hole you pointed out, I think it's just a kids cartoon so too much plot development is unnecessary. It's better to just go in and go out while setting up the main plot points and gags for kids to follow and I haven't heard any feedback about any confusion with it yet so I think we did so efficiently and effectively.

On the sound criticism, I agree wholeheartedly, but once again this was due to some hectic deadlines and sleep deprivation. lol. I wanted to add a musical score too but maybe I'll come back to it another day.

Overall, thanks again for the comment! Really appreciate the feedback!

this was a fantastic video with amazing animation. If you don't make videos for a living you prob should. Very well done. Sound quality was great and it linked well with the animation. If there is any sort of suggestion I can make is the gaps between time shifts seemed a little long. I know its only 2 to 3 seconds but it seemed forever. The first time it happened changing to the past I thought my comp froze. Obviously it didn't freeze but it did make me click my mouse a few times. Not sure if intentional or not but its literally the only thing I can think of to offer constructive feed back. Excellent work! all my 5 belong to you
