I can imagine a ton of work went into animating that short.
I think zooming in and out could have been a little more polished in the sense of the foreground plane. Some object closer to the camera would help give the illusion of more depth on the zoom shots. In addition they would also give you a greater illusion of speed on the horizontal panning.
having said that this was really good.
There were some great slow motion shots.
The fighting was very fluent and the character motion very graceful.
I really enjoyed the painted backing.
My favorite part of the toon was the character powerups.
Overall good job!
