Dig Runner

Dig Runner was made in 72 hours for Ludum Dare #34. The themes were "growing" and "two button control." The goal is to dig holes to trap your enemies while avoiding enemy fire or trapping yourself. You have three lives. When you start the game or lose a life you get a temporary shield.

Movement: Left click on a location highlighted in green to move there. You can only move to spots in the same row or column as you. Right click on a location directly adjacent to you (no diagonals) to make a hole. The grass grows back after three seconds.

Controls:
Left Click: Move
Right Click: Dig Hole

The controls are horrible, it's not clear what you need to do and it's not balanced at all. Once you get to multiple enemies who are able to shoot at you from all direction while you cannot even move, it's a problem. Also you cannot make traps, as you can only have two holes at once.

HOWEVER! There is a lot of potential in the concept. If it hard a wasd or arrow control set, pickups like shields and health, a clear tutorial and upgrades, it would be a lot better.

the game has great looks and potential, but with no tutorial or simpler controls I can't play :(

There are a few problems with this game, such as the lives, controls, and enemies.
First off, the lives. Having 3 lives that cannot be replenished was a problem for me.
The controls were bad too, sure click and walk, but would've been better with a tutorial how to play.
Last, the enemies. It was a bit of an unfair match. You digging holes while they shoot. Should've been either you shooting or the enemies digging.
Here is a few suggestions to make the game better.
Allies, power ups, dig upgrade, and more health.

Thanks for the feedback! It's my first game submission but I definitely want to build on this and make some improvements. Most commentary has been about control so that's #1 for me (probably free range movement without restriction and also dig diagonally). Something to gain lives/health and power ups sound like great ideas, too. Thanks for playing!
