Ghost Motel Remix: Slaleky
The original Ghost Motel came out on November 13th, 2002. When I saw that the 13th anniversary would be a Friday the 13th, I got to work immediately!
My intention was to release this game on the exact anniversary, but I only had two weeks to make it. I worked on it for 20 hours straight and pulled an all nighter on the 12th. The game broke, and the deadline was missed. I pulled it apart, and re-code the game. One benefit is that I was able to add a lot of features that would have been previously cut. I think it feels like a much more full game now!
I want to give a huge thanks you XwaynecoltX for giving me permission to make this game, and for the encouraging words while it was being developed.
Slaleky and JayWEccent are heroes for how quickly they were able to produce and hand in their contributions! They really made this thing feel official, and complete.
I hope the fans of the original can get behind this remake, and enjoy the series with a fresh set of eyes!

EDIT (22/11/2015): I have made a small update to the file. It isn't much, but hopefully it makes it a bit more clear when the game has ended. I also made "Lost Hope" a tiny bit easier.

I remember coming across the original Ghost Motel series as a kid and for the longest time I thought it was all some sort of fever dream cause I couldn't remember the name. I'm so happy to see someone paying homage to original and I think with the updated graphics and added functionalities with the items, it really does quite well. The only thing that I couldn't figure out was the 'My Friday's Best' medal, I attempted to restart multiple times and try things in different orders, but to no avail. However, it was not a make it or break it situation, I still thoroughly enjoyed this little remake. It would be nice to see the series remade in full, but trying to incorporate all the newer elements and still keep the feel of the original would very challenging. Regardless, great job!
I'm so glad to see this game being recognized, and someone taking the time to redesign the game is awesome! :)
However, as much as I enjoyed the OG, I can't say this one really holds the same ground, or even close to it. The new track is fantastic, but the original music had something uniquely spooky in it, something that this one wasn't able to capture. The graphics obviously look improved, but they seem too cartoonish compared to the OG. Lastly, what I think this game is really missing, is the creepy atmosphere that the original one provided. It's just not scary, or mysterious at all.
If you decide to continue the series, I kindly suggest either staying true to the original one, or try at least to capture the same vibes. :)
