After their miserable failure in the first instalment (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/643083), Molak and Mik drink their troubles away in a deadlands outpost. From there, they receive a tempting offer from an old friend.

This is the part where I practically blog about the fucking thing.

Holy fuck, this one took so much out of me. My god. This is easily the hardest I've worked on a short ever, and I'm really glad I did.
For one, I finally have something out there to my name that isn't motion tweened to shit. I've discovered freedom and flexibility in fbf that I never had with tweening between keys. (not to bash tweening, just look at my previous stuff and you'll see what I mean)
The main issue is that I also discovered fbf in general. So, essentially what you're seeing is the process of me learning fbf based on gut feeling. It's for this reason that you'll notice a steady increase in visual quality as the short goes on. You'll also notice an extreme spike in quality towards the end which marks the exact moment I actually entered my college's animation program.
I notice a shit load of faults in this that I'm way too picky for now (for the love of god, point them all out to me anyway. I NEED TO LEARN, DAMMIT), but it's good to see it get out there. I'm not letting this shit die, and I'm grateful to everyone who helped make this happen.

An awesome handful of improvements from the first installment, this world just got a whole lot bigger for the better and is given the lore of Old Earth endless possibilities for our main protagonist to endure and tackle many dangers along the way, the art and animation quality is an step up and the diverse range of characters is a funny bunch, some scavs like Marco and the Fly are very hilarious and gave me an good chuckle whenever they appear. These character and vehicular design too are very good, some of the clothing in each of the characters like Typo would have a few neat lil details like imperfections around his shirt and horn would do the trick. I got lots to say but I’m stopping here and surely enough the third installment will be incredible. One more thing, some of the sounds like the footsteps and the cave ambiance would some scenes in this much better overall. Keep you the amazing work and Merry Christmas

Don't know how long it'll take you to make another one of these, but it will be well worth it.

Fantishow responds:

Fuck, the sequel to this one won't be ready for like another two years. There are some shorts for it planned before that though!

Disgust collab lol

Fantishow responds:

HOW DID THEY KNOW I WAS HERE

This animation has a warmth to it the likes of which the internet rarely sees. I'm talkin' TOME, and RWBY level shit. By that, I mean there's just this element that's present when somebody animates something that is their own and they put their heart into it. Sure, TOME and RWBY may have been higher production value but, that same authenticity that make them so enjoyable is very present in this little production.
That said, the first few minutes are pretty poorly animated. But, I won't fault you for that since you improved pretty drastically by the end. However, there were more.consistant flaws that didn't get fixed; more distinction between characters- there were a few little bits here and there when I wasn't sure who was who (using lines where a character is referred to by name directly and said character responds can help with distinction). The voice acting was good, just lacking in sound quality. The dialogue was pretty good- got the point across, it was expressive of the characters. Some of the transitions were a bit confusing and awkwardly abrupt. The "stationary camera" is pretty standard but, I feel like you could do a tad more panning. Idk. That's all I can think of for now. Overall, very good job.

Wow. I can tell you really put your all into this. Great writing and animation overall.

Well done.
