Gameboy style run n' gunner made in 10 days for #GBJam 2015. Run right n' shoot stuff! This is a work in progress, so I'll be updating it until it's juuuuust right!

UPDATE 1.0.0

Been chipping away at Strongerman a bit here n’ there since the jam. Think I’m finally happy with it now. Sorted out a few problems n’ added/redesigned some stuff. here are the biggest changes/additions.

Now in widescreen
Switched to widescreen to for more room to see enemies up ahead.

Roll!
Strongerman can now roll to avoid bullets! But be careful, his roll is a fixed distance, so make sure you know what’s up ahead first.

Improved camera
The camera movement doesn’t zip around as drastically when facing left.

Healthpacks
Finding things too hard? Pick up a healthpack to restore your health. Got mad skills n’ have no need for a healthpack? Pick it up anyway, for bonus points.

Lives
Since I’ve combined both levels into one, asking people to play through the whole thing in one life would be cruel (unless you have mad skills!). So if you die, you’ll restart the current area instead of getting the boot back to the title screen.
Achievements
Or ‘Awards’ as I call them ‘cause ‘achievements is a massive word n’ it made my title screen look bad.

There’s other stuff too, but I can’t be bothered to list them all. Go kill some giant bird men!

UPDATE 0.4.1 You can press Y on keyboards to shoot now. Makes things a bit easier for QWERTZ players. Have at it!

You can tell that this was inspired by the classic Ninetendo Gameboy. Graphics have that crisp retro feel. Controls took a minute to master. The challenge level is tough but fair. It could be harder for new players that are not used to old school difficulty.

the game's art is good in all but too hard to control...

good game

Quite a tough game and the controls took me a while to get used to, but it does bring back memories of the old but challenging games of the past. Kudos.

Pretty fun for the most part, I think speeding it up a little bit would make it a much more fun.
