Deeply Absurd Chain

Share Collapse

Author Comments

This is clever, relaxing puzzle that may look similar to many connect-3 puzzles, but it is different! Connecting items/creatures of the same type allows you to discover the next link of the chain:

Regular stone -> Warm-blooded stone -> Not very clever life form -> Stupidly cute young creature -> ... Can you discover the entire deeply absurd chain?

Rules are simple: connect, discover and upgrade. This is a mix between Triple Town and Dungeon Raid.

Game features:

- Connect 3 or more items/creatures of the same type to discover the next link of the chain;
- Plan your move to make sure that the next one is possible;
- Earn and upgrade Bonus Actions that will help you to move forward;
- Classic "Boulder Dash" like gravity mechanics;
- Absurdopedia: funny descriptions of the items in the chain.

Really nice game ! Where can I find the file where the game's data are saved on my computer, please ?

The basics of this puzzle are fairly common and not typically a type I particularly enjoy, but the alteration of having matched pieces form a new piece rather than just eliminating them gave it a fresh twist. The desire to unveil the new creatures with each exponential increase kept me playing much longer than I normally would have.

A larger playing board and/or difficulty settings may have made it more fun for those who were curious but not looking for an intense challenge. Larger boards for easier difficulties, or something like that. The bonus actions were a nice touch, but too "expensive" relative to point gain.

Great game buddy!!
