Mighty Retro Zero is a minimalistic game where you control a tiny player like megaman with full references to old great games using only 8 colors, pixels like punchs and addictive gameplay.

At the moment there are 3 game modes planned: History, Retro levels and Time Attack/Puzzle. Other modes can be added later but at least the game will have the previous ones.

The game is still in development and not have any release date yet but hope bethis year (2015).

I love it. It reminds me of Bro-Force.

hey ive seen the game on steam green light but if you could make the controls a little more fluid by usind WASD keys and maybe shift to shoot that work very well also some more music would be nice I also really feel that some cyber punkish urban levels would be nice..... Overall your game is pretty damn good aside from the controls and if there could be vendors to sell you items every once in a while that would make the game more immersive

It was too hard to figure out wall jumping, and there was no X-buster charging noise...Similar music to mega man though. thanks

An okay game, but very misleading. You claim this game is "like megaman". In what way is this game like megaman, exactly? This game isn't at all like megaman! There are no robot masters to beat, you don't gain powers through defeating bosses, and so forth. Merely being a platformer is not being "like megaman". Don't mislead people like that.

Lots of stuff is nonintuitive. That swinging axe thing? Yeah it looks like you should be able to stand on the flat part (that works in literally every other game that has something like that) but nope that kills you. Those three things that shoot at you? That'd be fair if this was an "I want to be the guy" kind of game, but it's not, so first time that happens is a cheap shot. The portals? How am I supposed to know those are portals? I happened to get lucky and touch one. The climbing things? Yeah I got lucky and pressed 'UP' near one. It wasn't at all obvious you could climb those.

And there's one stage when playing "History" mode where you fall down on a save disk and there's a fire to your left and it's literally impossible to continue because, hey, you can hit that fire and die. And then you can enjoy doing that again forever. Yay!

This is well done, but unfortunately, I don't find this game any fun. The level design is indeed a bit poor overall, I mean, at least give some kind of clue to the player before killing him. Those 3 spikes on the roof are pretty weird kind of ennemy, at least if they were flashing or something, indicating there is danger to the player. They are even the same exact color than the level itself. If the game had some kind of health bar like megaman, that would make more sense, but now it's an instant death, and you wonder wtf happened.

Sometimes I fall in a hole, and there is an ennemy at the bottom I can't seem before jumping in. Exactly how I am suppose to know this? Also, a lot of save points are filled with ennemies, that's a bit awkward to be killed, then assaulted on respawn.

Maybe make bigger levels? it seems you want to cram everything in a very compact space, I dunno

So the game is pretty much a die and restart over and over, until you remember everything. Might be good for some people, but not me. You seem dedicated and have poured a lot of time into this, so kudos to you, but I still feel there is a bunch of stuff to fix to be any enjoyable, in my humble opinion.

I feel restricting yourself in the color palette is also not a good idea. Those movable blocks should be another color vs the static level. I think it would make things clearer. I also have no idea how to throw them, it just fires at random while key-bashing.

I'm not a peculiar fan of megaman, if this is any info to you, but I did play on the old gameboy quite a while ago and enjoyed those moments.

please try Star Guard, a small free flash game that does what I'm talking about:

Have a nice one!
