A lonely bowerbird tries his best to get some attention from the local chicks, but he soon learns that it’s not quite as easy as he had hoped.

At first I thought this movie was some kind of sick joke. I mean, looking at it from the very beginning, it was so sad! What with him trying to make a nice little structure of rocks, hauling them back and forth, standing on top of it and trying to get a girl to notice him.

Then there was the torn wing. I'm not kidding when I say I cringed when I saw that happen. Here I thought, "now this person is just trying to be funny, putting this in the comedy genre and all." Course' it wasn't that at all. It caught me by surprise so much that it made the happy ending even more wonderful!

I really liked this, it had practically everything that makes something great, sadness, cute animals, and a happy ending. I hope to see more!

billyblob responds:

I am very happy to hear that in the end, the cartoon worked for you. I have heard from others that the wing incident was a bit much. Thank you for the five stars and thoughtful and thorough review.. I really appreciate you taking the time.

pretty nice, its a little graphic with the wing loss though. I'm not being sensitive, I just find it a little surprising to find that in an E rated video.

Hi thediskoman, Yeah that part is a little gruesome, hopefully it won't bother to many others. I was kind of thinking it was along the lines of the violence in something like the road runner. Thanks for watching and the four stars.

a GREAT animation!
fast, swift, well drawn, and with many points and with an interesting, sad, and touching tale, with some bits of humour here and there, this was truly a movie to enjoy!
wonderful animation, and almost-like-real-life psysics (the gravity/flying of the bird, and the movement of the objects at least, they seemed to have a certain weight, and thats hard to depict in a flash movie....)

and despite the sad turn of events, the crow turned the tables into his favor!
great moment! great movie! great ending!
great work overall!

im very happy for this movie, and its one of my favorite stories that i've seen recently.
great work, man!
keep it up, and do more, you are GOOD.

also, what FPS did you used? this felt so natural and fast, that it rocked. as for teh movements, was it tweens, or frame by frame?
good work!

Hi Chris the Sticck2,
Thank you for the very nice review! It made my day.
The cartoon was done at 29.97 FPS and most of the movements are tweens. I also use a lot of looping movie clips within other movie clips (bird flying). A few parts were frame by frame (like bird blowing).
Again thank you for taking the time to review the cartoon,
