You know, I put off watching Evangelion for damn near two decades because of the proliferation of this kind of horribly baseless critique of Shinji. This, like most, continues to portray him as one of the worst anime protagonists of all time, whiny and pathetic. And hot damn, could that not be more wrong. I'm not going to give you a thesis in a newgrounds comment, but I just got to say, its an absolute shame that such a masterful, well-crafted, depth-filled character like Shinji Ikari has been reduced to second-rate meme trash like he has. A true and honest shame.
But, like... the animation is good I guess?
