Gravity Block

Gravity Block - a simple 2D flyer with gravity reversal at random intervals.

UPDATE 2: Added a rotating effect to the cube to give it some more personality, a few sounds, backing track, and screen flash effect as a warning for the gravity flip. Feedback is highly appreciated.

HOW TO PLAY:
- Fly as long as you can
- Avoid obstacles
- React to the gravity reversal(screen will flash before it actually changes)

CONTROLS:
- Click to jump up(when gravity is flipped, click to jump down.

ABOUT: This game was not meant to be a super polished game. It is merely the execution of an idea that is: Flappy Bird with gravity reversal at semi-random times. I love the feedback I'm getting, and I have taken some of that and put it directly into the game and it's a better game because of it - however I also want to keep it minimalist and simple so I can move on to my next project. Thanks for playing.

TOOLS USED:
I used Unity, along with 2 awesome packages from the asset store: PlayMaker(visual scripting), and 2DToolkit(great 2D addon that is PlayMaker compatible).

Added sounds/music & stuff!

it needs to have some sound

thebrobotic responds:

Added a few sounds + music! More sounds and sprites on the way.

This thing is like flappy bird that automatically inverts itself at times.

An interesting concept, but utterly flawed.

thebrobotic responds:

Hi DarkFire, if you have any input on how to remove those flaws I'd love to hear them. Thanks.

Shows promise, but right now it feels like a broken unity demo, probably because it is. Adding sound, cleaning up sprites, and removing dev data displays would greatly improve this.

thebrobotic responds:

I really do appreciate the honest feedback. I rushed to get it online last night so I didn't even notice the debug stuff was left in. I'm definitely going back and tuning the game based on everyone's feedback. I just wanted to execute the concept, Flappy Bird with a gravity flip, and I want to complete that vision without spending TOO much time. So I'll try to find a good balance of minimalism and polish. Thanks again.

It's a nice game concept. But it doesn't have any sounds and you forgot to remove your debug GUI.

thebrobotic responds:

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. I'm definitely going to be adding some sounds and a backing track tonight after work.
