Interesting! I think this is the first animation i've seen in HTML5 so that alone made for enjoyable viewing. I assume the pixelation transition was added afterwards in some other software? The concept was interesting and i liked the art style (mix of detailed textures and pixel art?) As for the writing i think that death entering the elevator with his sycthe was a little more than was necessary. I'm not sure of a more subtle way of getting the point across but i felt that was just too melodromatic. I suppose if the door had just opened and then he was gone we would assume he just left the elevator... Anyhow i enjoyed it, nice music too!
