UPDATE APR-11:
I am taking a little longer to update the game because I did buy an Esoteric's Spine software.
There will be a huge upgrade on my character's animation.
Also I am finishing the comics introduction and polishing the game.
...
I will include a new scene with a whole new background / comics and puzzles real soon. Please check out later.
----------------------------------------------------

Hey guys,

I am proudly to present you guys with my spy game.
Its a Stealth / Action 2D Platform game.

I did include one complete stage that contains 2 scenes.
A lot more will come soon.

Playing this game you will find a lot of behaviors I made for it.
Dialogs, Pop-up Messages, Actions, and so on.

It is a fully playable game.
Think of it like an intro for the game I am still working on!

Please be aware that it is still a 'work in progress' game.
I am still developing its engine, fixing some bugs, and specially drawing images.

Its a one man job that I do love to do.
But its hard to do everything simultaneously.

You will play a 2D stealth / action game with a lot of comics on it.
Be sure that I will increase its difficulty as player progress on to next stages that will come in the near future.

***** INSPIRATIONAL SOURCES:
- spy movies that we all love - Mission Impossible, 007, Bourne, among others!
- stealth games. Specially Commandos (player detection / hide, change actors...) and Lost Vikings.
- Comics Books.

***** NEXT STEPS:
- Finish intro and other comics strips with higher quality (its still as scratch).
- More stages / new enemies / lot more puzzles - that will be geting harder as you progress in the game.
for instance:
- moving platforms.
- new kind of enemies.
- different AI for different enemies.
- Enhanced / upgrade images - characters, menu, intro screens and so on.
- Action scenes - a new engine in the game for action.

***** FUTURE PLANS
1 - Hire an artist to help me out.
I am fully aware that there's a lot of fixes and improvements to be made on artwork.
2 - Develop a timeline to deliver the next stages and the final product.

Hope you guys do enjoy it as much as I am enjoying creating it.

And all feedbacks will be highly appreciated. Positive or negative.

Thanks and best of luck to us all!

Great vibe so far! Who did the music?

One big suggestion I have would be to include the key press next to prompts such as hiding and hacking. It was funny because early on I tried pressing UP to hide in shadows before I got to the official hiding spot, but then for some reason I didn't think to try it when I was actually there - I thought the hiding icon above my head meant I was in a safe spot. It took a few tries before I got it and I worry other people might just give up.

Another thing you could consider is maybe a key to toggle players, so you don't have to only use the mouse for that. You could hover the key over the head of the other player, and the mouse can be a backup if the player is offscreen and you forget the key.

I also experienced a bug after taking out the guard, I got caught not cleaning up my mess but there seemed to be a second reply menu flickering over the first one, blocking me from retrying.

I like where you're going with this!

Thanks for the feedback Tom. I will include the "key press" warning next to prompts. That may be confusing to first time players alright.

The actor can be changed using enter key instead of mouse.
Actually the balloons for actions are being made because I do plan to launch the game on mobiles. So instead of pressing up key people will touch the balloon.
I will also include a blinking message around the change actor icon. It will last for a few seconds but will warn regarding the enter key.

I will also investigate that bug you did encounter after the clean your mess message. Thanks for pointing that out.

The music I did find on audionetwork.com.
It's actually one music only. I did use it breaking into 3 different parts.
Seems like 3 different songs (menu, scene 1 and escape). But it's the same song in different moments.

The writers of that awesome song are:
Dave James / Adam Skinner and Dan Skinner.
Name of song: Edge of Fear.

Hope you play my game again soon. As I do plan to not only fix the bugs you stated but I plan to enhance a lot the game.

Best regards

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I do have a lot of plans for it. I do consider that demo shown in here as a "engine demo". I have a lot to do and I do hope to get it right. I try to keep a journal updated, with all ideas I am having for this game. Please check it for all updates I am doing or planing on doing.

Thanks for that my friend. I am adjusting a few things in here. Checkpoint on stages are one of those things. And I hope to soon have some good news for my game. Thanks a lot for the review.
