Dark Deception is an Oculus Rift compatible horror game that was inspired by the arcade classic, Pac-Man. This is a demo of our 1st level. Other levels are in development and will feature different horror environments and creatures with different pursuit/attack patterns. The antagonist is Helen Bierce, voiced by Carolyn Seymour (Dr. Chakwas from Mass Effect and Myrrah from Gears of War). The game will be on Steam Greenlight soon! Sadly, you can not play this web version with the Oculus Rift.

Now on Steam Greenlight! If you enjoyed this demo or think it shows promise, please vote for us at

I like "granny's" voice. Who did you get to do the voices? :D

Alright, let's get down to what this game really is. You are running through a maze-like setting trying to collect shards while an insane monkey mascot (who I will call Bananas) is trying to kill you... for some reason. To be completely honest this game has potential, but that's all it is, potential. The gameplay itself is mediocre at best, and the setting is not all that creepy. It's not a bad game, but it is very simple. The graphics however are very pleasing and well made, especially for a unity web player game. The killer itself comes across as more funny then it is scary. And the whole objective seems to similar to that of the Spyro series. You run around collecting glowing purple shards, through a series of mazes. If this game was worked on it could be really solid, as it is there are a lot of small problems that are hard to overlook.

It is what it is and what it is isn't much. Great graphics and atmosphere, other than that gameplay is a disappointment. Run around like a brainless twit picking up soul shards, yawn. Oh and there is this murderous monkey that somehow has an ability to kill you - a monkey?

I guess today's gamer thinks this is great, but today's gamers have lost the ability to think by playing endless stupid games like these. Programmers are lazy and gamers are lazy, so they get lazy boring games to play.

Beautiful and frightening. I might just buy the Oculus Rift just for this!
