Edit: Thank you to whoever put this on the front page!

UPDATES 2/24/14:
- Updated the Merchant upgrade, you can now sell more ores per click during the later levels.
- Lowered the "Like a Boss" achievement, you only need 20,000 clicks now. The medal on NG is locked so it will still say 50,000 there, but you just need 20,000.
- If you missed out on Newgrounds registering an achievement, view the achievements menu and they should register for you.
- Re-did some of the save procedures. The game auto saves every 15 seconds. If you still lost your save file send me a private message. Thank you.

Mine, fish and cut down a giant beanstalk or prepare to face the wrath of some not-so friendly giants.

Game with interesting premise:
Gather resources.
Use resources to get upgrades.
Achieve goal.

Many games do this, some mixing it up a little, but it usually boils down to what was previously mentioned. This game however, over-simplifies everything by reducing the resource-gathering element to 3 buttons. Upgrades serve to make this easier, by automating the resource-gathering (and selling) process.

I usually think the upgrades were meant to alleviate some previously unlikeable mechanic (like maybe resources are limited, or travel/time management is involved), but the game is simple enough that the upgrades only serve to hasten chopping down the beanstalk (and nothing else).

I always imagined if any resource-gathering game was reduced to its simplest form, this is it, if not close to it. Maybe good for a casual person who appreciates this sort of thing, but since it lacks a distressing element (not even maybe giants coming down the beanstalk after enough time/days have passed), it does not serve to keep my interest for too long.

Overall, Artwork is great. Mechanically, game is too simple but has potential to be much greater than this. Congrats on the Front Page though, and good luck on your next game!

Great game but really needs a save function... No need to offline income but at least save... since its annoying if you loose it all <.<

some people arent that free that they can click for 2-4 hours ... i'd rather like to keep going on my breaks or after work.

Coolboyman responds:

It should autosave. If it didn't for you send me a PM please.

it's a good game, I really love it ...i just can suggest to change the tabEnabled property into the script..otherwise someone might use tabKey to go on the axe fish or pickaxe button and just hold enter key pressed until energy run out

Coolboyman responds:

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I fixed it and I'm waiting for the new version to replace the old one.

Addicting game with a cool style of animation, and the music isn't too shabby either!
This is a fun clicker type game that definitely makes you work to progress further along.
I do wish that there was a sell/eat all button just like someone mentioned below, because it gets really tedious having to click constantly for everything. Especially when trying to purchase those upgrades that increase the value of the clicks.
Other than that, I really enjoyed this.
Keep up the good work!
