This is the first of the series and was made back in 2008! It was lost until now! If you don’t had the opportunity to play this game there in 2008, you can do it right now!

GamePops is a video game music quiz: you listen to a music and writes the name of the game it belongs. You need to write the entire game name to score. So: good luck!

Other games of the GamePops series:
Sega Generation: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/536524
Classics: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/628294

UPDATE! The game wasn't available because of several things, sorry for that :/ But now, it's up again and we have three new features: local save, scoreboards and Newground Medals!
Enjoy!

UPDATE 2! For the ones who are struggling to find all the answers, they are here:

(keep in mind that this can spoil the game for you).
Thanks for playing!

Lovely to hear all that iconic music from those great games that are still awesome today! Most of the music I've heard before but can't figure out the game it came from (number 16 especially, that one's driving me crazy!)

Maybe you could provide a list of hints in your game description (since you can't really change the messy game code). Not the answers directly of course, that'll spoil the fun. Maybe just subtle hints, like what year the game was made, its genre, a brief overview of the plot, etc :)

kleber responds:

Hi there!

Great suggestions! In fact, there is another two games like this that actually have the hints you want! Those are: GamePops Sega Generation Version (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/536524) and GamePops Classics (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/628294). They are the sequances of this game and both have more features (the last even includes the year thing you suggested). You can try them too :)

About the 16th music, here is a tip: it's the first game which a certain famous plumber appeared.

Hope I could be helpful.
Thanks for playing, HaloFanz!

When Shadow of the Colossus appeared out of nowhere all of my feels just took over and I started making pterodactyl noises.

"Typed mario in first one and no green for me :("
That's because the game is not called "Mario", goddammit.
Still, he made a point : I would like to have access to the answers, in order to discover the games I don't know or recognize !

kleber responds:

Yes, I'm thinking about publish the answers.
On the next update maybe I put the link to the answers on the description.
