What happened to Lee in 2011's "Outpost:Haven" was only half the story. In comparison, Lee was the lucky one.

Spread over ten levels we go back and forth in time with both Lee and Jameson on Haven and the planet below to discover its secrets in this survival horror game.
Swarm mode makes a welcome return, with a greater depth of gameplay.
This time let's even the odds, with more weapons and multiple armor combinations the battle is truly on.

Please note, the specular lighting option requires a powerful machine. The game runs in low quality by default and is the recommended setting.

Chrome users, there's a bug if you quit out of fullscreen. Sorry it's out of our hands, so keep that in mind if you need to quit out ( The game saves often so not all is lost if it happens, but it's still annoying I know ).

Thanks to everyone whose taken the time to play / vote / review the game, you're the best.

Turn the lights off, the volume up, hit full screen and shoot some aliens.

Fantastic. But this series can only truly get big if it gets coop and multiplayer, on steam maybe one day?

I didn't get too far, since I am playing on my lunch hour, but this is just as great as the last game. I do have a few requests though. :)

1) When you access the New Haven panel, have a computerized voice reading off the menus. Just for that sci-fi flair.

2) Maybe a short animated, background story for the mission theme of the next game?

3) Or maybe try a Pet Sentry, where it is built on a dog chassis. Weapons on it could be upgraded and enhanced through the Haven panels like any other weapon. But as a catch, the Pet would have a life bar, and instead of health ups, there would be Repair Modules to pickup. Give it 2 or 3 lives like the player, and if it's dead, it's dead for good.

Just my 2 cents. :)

Love the ideas mate, but time / money and all that. We've got enough ideas that we had to drop for this one to make a start on Outpost 3 tomorrow ( But we're not, no more aliens for a little while ).

I haven't played through the entire thing yet but I've gotten about 5 missions in and I want to give some constructive criticism. It was not as good as I was expecting. It felt less of a new game, and more of like the old game with a different storyline. Sure, there are some new features, such as the more "gadget" style weapons, armor upgrades, more enemy variety, and all of those things are fantastic additions to be sure. The first game lacked some gameplay depth and these really filled a missing hole there. However, some things such as the clunky movement and strange AI behavior (along with lack of any real animation) are still here, even though I assumed those were things that would get ironed out for the second game. That said I love the game, and it kinda sucks on the other sites because it really is a game meant for full screen, so I'll enjoy playing it on Newgrounds. Good luck and keep up the good work!

We spent a lot of time with one off set pieces this time ( Like the "Ghostbusters library" sequence in level 2 when everything is exploding ) to try and make it more filmic and to vary things. Also the two characters / flipping back and forth in time etc.
At the end of the day though, it's a top down shooter, and as a sequel we couldn't really move too much out of that scope without annoying everyone who enjoyed the first, our plan was "More, just bigger".
And yeah, we tested it in full screen from the start, it's the best way to play it.

Such a great game! Love the set pieces (especially the first explosion - chase - giant bug sequence) and the way it swaps between the space station and the planet. Great effects and sounds too. Loads of attention to detail everywhere. Losing half a star because I played in full-screen for the first 15mins and had to check mail, so jumped out of full-screen and the game was totally black and can't be played any more (even though you can shoot/hear it running) :)

The bug you mentioned is a Chrome / Pepper pot one, it's a known thing, and for once a bug which isn't my fault.
