On another note, you ARE completely correct as far as the dates go.
Kinneroth is NOT fully correct in what he said below. The jewish holidays start at sundown the night before, so yes, the first day DID start Wednesday night. However, where he messed up is this: it was still the first day for all of the day Thursday, up until sundown, which then started the 2nd day.

Can't give this any stars, because the first day of Hanukkah isn't Thanksgiving, it was Wednesday, the day before, at sundown. So this is the second day of Hanukkah.
