Halloween 2013 A peaceful weekend at Lakeview Cabin gets interrupted by a Pixel Nightmare and a Tombstone Jumping Devil.

Author Comments

A brick break game made for the Halloween 2013 contest.
Although I doubt I'll win due to rushing to meet the deadline.

Break the blocks to hear some scary sounds and witness the terror that lies in level 3.

Put some more effort.

It was... eh. It could have been a lot better. The ball pretty much moved on its own free will (unlike pong). You couldn't control the ball's direction with the bar at the bottom. There was one point where the ball got stuck and moved back and forth between the walls horizontally for about 30 seconds, then randomly moved directly downward when it hit the left wall again. The lack of challenge (infinite lives) also made it kind of boring.

I also thought the ending would have been a lot more effective if the game hadn't been screaming already. I understand that this was made hastily, so I won't view this as a limit to your potential. Good try, though.

I could do 20 times better, I just made this in 2 days. Not like I put in effort.
But stay tuned for more better games from me next month.

Gave you 2 for effort, can't say I would want to play this with volume , the sound fx is rather ear piercing, kind of makes me want to avoid the blocks so it wont make the sound. Having said that the game mechanics appear to be simple (which isn't neccessarily a bad thing), but it's hard to get a hold of it: how to direct the ball. Sometimes it makes sense and when you try to reproduce the same move it doesn't work the same way.
All in all, don't take it too harsh, I'm just pointing out what doesn't work in my eye, you did this in a hurry, but I hope that during making this you learned something and next time know what to do differently.

Thanks for the input. While I was working on the game I sadly decided to "wing" the physics so that the ball bounces off everything it touches and I made the paddle way it is to allow the ball to bounce at an angle depending on the way the player caught the ball on descent.

impossible to play, please when you submit a game, check the screen's size!!!

GhostDataForger responds:

I fixed the screen size earlier when I uploaded the game and tested the game twice, I ask that you to try to play again because I haven't been told of this problem since uploading the game 9 hours ago.
