HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!
Please note this IS NOT a game it's a animation

this is mine and zip zipper's submission for the newgrounds halloween spooktacular. It's very different to our normal styles but we wanted to try something different.

it's a story of a young womans turment which begins to completely unstabilize her game. think of it as a playthough of a creepypasta that she is playing herself and don't roll your eyes because i just said creepypasta IT'S NOT A CREEPYPASTA! that's just the best way I can discribe it.
it's told like an 8bit game with her collection items and her game glitching out.

WARNING THIS ANIMATION DOES HAVE FLASHING IMAGES! it's nothing to bad but thought I'd best warn you just in case.

I actually liked this one. I was a little annoyed at all the body horror at the beginning-- it was so gratuitious that I started to suspect it wasn't going anywhere. I'm glad I stuck it out though, because it ended up actually having a story behind the gore, unlike 99% of the crap that passes for horror these days.

The video game metaphor worked for me, especially the glitchyness, which was occasionally used in a clever way to give us false starts. I didn't care for the overuse of flashing, and especially the pixel moire pattern, which wasn't really creepy, just painful on the eyes.

Overall, it may not have been subtle, but it had a nice slow buildup and a psychological narrative with an internally-consistent theme. Good horror starts with WTF and ends with you feeling like you understand now. Without that hook for the curious mind, there's no real reason to subject yourself to it. So many modern horror series forget or willfully ignore that principle. This pixelly Indie effort at least made the effort, and mostly delivered on it. I'll take that over another disappointing sequel that misses the point any day.

Thank you very much. Body horror i.e. boils, pus and all that really disgust me which is why I used it.

It was a good flash, I liked it horror and wish it went on longer. My only gripe is that quick red flashes, be careful with that shit bro, might give someone a seizure. Over all good shit would watch again.

Did put a warning in the bit bellow, hopefully people see it. Cheers

It's not too bad, but it's not great either. I think it's most likely all of the shitty screamers on Newgrounds were what had me on edge as I watched, but other than that it wasn't really scary or even interesting. The game-to-movie concept just didn't do it for me; perhaps allowing the viewer to see what was happening to the real-world player would have made it interesting. As it is, I would have rather played an actual game.

The graphics and sound are modest, and the Earthbound reference is lame. The stereotypical creepy things that tend to happen in creepypastas or dramatic RPG Maker games are all there, but fail to immerse the viewer.

Honestly I think the concept was just bad from the beginning.

To each their own. Thanks for the review

Beautifully animated and an amazing sound track. Great job, it is clear a lot of work went into this, and it really shows! My only problem is Rose's last door/portal looks like an AssHole.

That's because it is an asshole haha she's inside flesh. Thanks for the review
