TIPS

* In the latter part of the game, things get pretty hard but also save points are 4 rooms apart.

* In the room with the double crushers and the spike trap in the middle, you'll need to observe the second crusher, when it is pretty lower than the first one, one-shot it to the door.

* In the first nightmare room section, the tapping sounds can help you time the moment you need to run in order to activate the bug creature correctly.

* In the last room, first quickly crouch, cross the first two crushers then crouch again to avoid the saw and then one-shot it to the door when you get the chance.

You have great ideas here, the game is challenging, with interesting puzzles. As you get through, the puzzles become more cruel and require more perception (and also timing). The big problem in the game is their own traps, which take too long to disarm (the trap of spikes) or are too fast (like the crushing ceiling). Another bad point is the time that the traps takes arm/rearm, it is a very short period. This makes the game a little frustrating. Another thing I disliked was the run button, which is not exactly a race, actually the character just walks a little faster, but it does not help much to cover ground... or gather time.
Visual 4.0/5
Gameplay 3.5/5
Sound 5/5
Fun 4.0/5

P.S/ Sorry my English

I think people should give this game more credit.. for 72 hours it's pretty good! Now only some polish let to make it really shine.. maybe the rating is bad because webgl doesn't work for everyone?

Dunno why you would use webGl for a 2d sprite based game. Maybe would have been better to use openFl, flash/flixel/flashpunk or even unity3d.. dunno.

good job, cheers!

Thank you! I really wish I had more time, but I plan to polish/expand/remake this game after the competition!
I used GameMaker Studio to develop the game, reason I enabled WebGL is because it is actually faster than regular 2D canvas, and also I was going to add some advanced lighting effects and color blending at some point but did not make it in time. I'll see to making WebGL acceleration optional if possible in order to support more browsers.
(EDIT) Sadly, the game has too much going on not only visually so the 2D Canvas suffers a lot from performance issues. Best to either play with a WebGL-enabled browser or download the native executables instead.

Visually it's good and the effect when the monster is getting closer is great...
but it's pretty much just tapping up arrow and memorizing levels. Also walking seems pointless, just run.

alexandervrs responds:

Thanks! Yes I agree the running button was not utilized well. Perhaps it could have been a walk button instead. If I had more time, I'd make exploration for items more interesting than just tapping up.

well i actually use linux so i downloaded the thing it says but i still dont know how to play dis e_e

alexandervrs responds:

To play the web version, use Google Chrome. Firefox also supports WebGL (but I think it is turned off by default though and I am not sure about Web Audio). The Linux version best works under Ubuntu, and make sure it is up-to-date! Also make sure you have the OpenAL libraries (use command sudo apt-get install libopenal1 in Terminal). If you also want gamepad support, run the command: sudo apt-get install joystick

Thank you! Yes, pretty much that was planned at some point!
To get past the 2nd web room, you cannot cross the spikes due to the web slowing you down. You first need to run, that will attract the bugs which with correct timing they will fall on the spike trap and destroy it. Then search in the web close to the door for the key. :)
