SonOfVayu is an Old School 2D Platformer Game.This is demo version.
I don't think this is even finished. This game should be more polished before you decide to upload it, there are no effects of any sorts, just only 3 loop tracks. I can't put myself to play through the the end as I see you can't even jump forward or move while attacking & I feel that the controls are very unresponsive which is the worst thing you could do to a platformer. If you're going to make homage or to celebrate the name of Hanuman, you've failed here.
I would recommend you to spend more time playtest this game a lot more than you should, I can see you've put quite an effort on the models, but that's not enough to make a good game. I don't care if it's a demo, I don't even think this is a demo, this 1 is more like an alpha build. If you want to make a demo, you should spend more time with it.
fix the ability to jump and move at the same time. otherwise cool
Ok here's what i think
You need to fix the moving. when you jump you have to press the D or the A to move while jumping.
The S doesn't do anything like the how to play says. You could at least make the attack to an easier spot like pressing H,J,K,or L to attack instead of clicking because it sometimes doesn't work.
It makes it king of impossible to beat the first level cause jumping is the problem and the pit.....yeah.
I would say whats the point of having the sword but that is what makes you attack.
Maybe make the S button guard. you need to at least have a defend button.
make the monster flinch sometimes too the red monsters are really annoying.
it takes a LONG time to load.
All and all the game doesn't seem too bad but the controls are a bit buggy. Like when you jump some times it lets you go forward as you jump. Sometimes it doesn't...which makes it very hard to avoid enemies. Unless you were going for you have to attack to get around of them ? Which I personally don't like to have to 'click' to attack. It's a LOT easier to just use the keyboard and memorize the keys when it comes to 2d fighting games.
I think you have a good theme to it though.
the game look okay, but the onscreen controls took up way too much space in the flash version. also the music loops are ruff.
