This game takes inspiration from old school games like the first Castlevania games or the Ghouls n Ghosts game series, which it does with platformer features that nowadays are mostly forgotten and not explored, because of their ability to cause major frustration for the player.
In these games you can't for example change the direction after you jump, but have to bear the consequences of your desicion to jump.
It isn't for everyone, but if you got the guts to bear it I give you the ultimate challenge.
