When a group of children go against their parents wishes and venture deep into the forest which surrounds their village, they get more than they bargained for. They soon realise that there are dangerous and mysterious things in the dark corners and crevices of the world.
The story of the Juggernauts begins in this RPG adventure! Battle the creatures of the forest, help out the villagers, and discover a few secrets here and there.
Edit: Difficulty lowered, this should fix some issues. We've also increased the starting level of the characters and given some extra items to begin with.

ok, the game looks nice, but there are a lot of issues as most people are saying, monsters are way too hard, it would be ok, if it didnt take so long to lvl up, or if lvling up would actually double your hp and dmg output, but it took me about 20 minutes to get from lvl 5-6 to see my hp go up by 10 and dmg by 1, seriously this isnt enough. the monsters should also drop more stuff, make it stuff we can sell because we need a shtload of potions, but cant buy any cause we dont have enough money, i think this game could be very interresting if we could actually play it. thx

I found this to be okay. I think it's mostly because there isn't enough going on for you to really get into the game. It was nice to see some pretty good graphics. It just comes off as too boring for me to really enjoy. It is fairly unpredictable. The music isn't bad either.
Everything just looks too bland in this. No one is wearing anything fancy and it looks too normal. I am just not motivated into going further into this. I'm not interested in finding out what' going to happen next. Maybe it does get better.

I have to echo the sentiments of several previous reviewers in that the difficulty right out the gate is too high; it would be one thing if your characters had some special ability/moves to do higher damage or if they had more variety starting out, but as it is it's a tedious process of "hit, hit, hit, take damage, take damage, repeat" that nets you very little reward. On top of that, the base monsters are as strong as your characters, except they can launch energy spheres to do double damage to you; even a critical hit from your party doesn't do as much damage as these starter monsters.
Having to travel back to town after the 2nd fight really stunts the pace of the game as well; if all the items were much cheaper, it would provide some balance and you could continue forward. Also, not sure if it was just me but Tyson seemed to be solely targeted 90% of the time until he was dead, and this was through 2 separate playthroughs.
The music was excellent, IMO; it had a classic RPG feel to it both in the menu, town, & in battle. Sounds FX were average, but again going by classic RPG standards you can't go wrong there.
I'd like to play this game again if it gets revamped; as it stands it is too punishing out the gate to get any real progress or momentum going.
Thanks for the feedback. We're going to decrease the price of items, decrease enemy stats and increase player stats. That way you can battle your way through an area without having to leave the area to heal with little to no progression.
I have to thank Matt Jones for the music, he did an excellent job with it and was great to work with.

Who knows? It may have a very compelling story, but it's so tedious to play. Enemies are difficult. You can't venture very far without having to return to town to heal. The pace of battles is really slow.
I know that some people still enjoy these kind of slow, turn-based RPGs, but at this point in my life I don't know how much time I have to give to something that unnecessarily punishes players by making progression difficult. I mean, I'm told to go to town and the inn to heal and the guy tells me its empty. I walk back in the forest nearly dead. My characters' health was restored at some point, but I couldn't tell you how that happened.
Are you seriously making players go through that tedious forest before even saving their game? What happened to auto-saves?
There's no reason to try and make your game exactly like those from our childhood. First of all, they had better balance and pacing than this game. Second, they're old and things have improved since then.
