When a group of children go against their parents wishes and venture deep into the forest which surrounds their village, they get more than they bargained for. They soon realise that there are dangerous and mysterious things in the dark corners and crevices of the world.
The story of the Juggernauts begins in this RPG adventure! Battle the creatures of the forest, help out the villagers, and discover a few secrets here and there.
Edit: Difficulty lowered, this should fix some issues. We've also increased the starting level of the characters and given some extra items to begin with.

i directly gotta think about mardek... same graphics and elemental idea O.o the ideas fro that maybe?
else... quiet good, retrographics XD like it kinda...
Complete coincidence to be honest, I only found out about Mardek once we'd almost finished the game. It's a good game though, so it's a nice comparison to make :)

This game is kind of okay. The graphics aren't that good, but they're nice. The music doesn't quite fit, but the music is overall good. The plot? I've only gotten to the third area (counting the town) as of this point, so I can't really say anything about that. The gameplay? That's where the rant in this review is.
The elements are basic, but they're not very original. Fire, Air, Earth, Water, Light, Dark, Soul... Hundreds of RPGs use those same elements, but at least they're more original.
The movement is so sluggish. It takes 3 minutes to go to another area (not counting battles), where I can do the same thing in other RPGs in 1 minute, again, not counting battles.
We also encounter battles too often. This wouldn't be a problem if we moved around faster. Fast movement and a high AOBPH (Amount of Battles per Hour) is good, and slow movement and low AOBPH is good. Slow movement and high AOBPH? HELL.
Missing in battles is demolishing. Normally in RPGs, when I miss, it's easy to recover from it, since I deal decent damage, and the reason I missed is just because the random number landed somewhere outside the of the 70%. But, here, I deal so low damage (you're usually dealing mid-20s until you level up, and then you're dealing low-30s.) and miss so often (Tyson once missed three times in a row. THREE. TIMES.) , it's extremely hard to recover from it.
From the enemy's point of view, it's the opposite. They:
- Deal high damage
- It is unlikely for them to miss
- They can throw their elemental attacks at us 2-3 times per battle
That's another thing, we can't use elemental attacks until we level up. That's extremely annoying, as it is giving the enemies the upper hand. At least give us some sort of Power Attack!
On a related note, trying to level up is tedious. We don't get enough EXP from fights, and, as I have mentioned above, fighting is hell.
Plus, the items enemies drop are near-useless. They sell for a low price, and it costs way too much to buy stuff. Not to mention that it's not that likely that they will drop anything.
I know I have said a lot of stuff that a bunch of other people have said, but, GOD, this game... I feel like ragequitting and not playing this ever again.
However, the few reasons I am not going to do that, as well as the few reasons I am giving this two stars is:
1) I have not played it all the way through, so I don't know what the plot has in store for me.
2) This is just the first game. The next games can be far more improved over this.
I hope the next game will be better.

Thanks for the in-depth feedback. I can assure that for the next instalment there'll be a lot of difficulty overhauls and I've worked most of the graphics and they're also a considerable improvement.
The main issues that will be dealt with next time around:
- Longer game for more character development.
- Character/enemy balance more in favour of the characters so you can do numerous battles before becoming concerned about health.
- Experience gains are improved so levelling isn't such a chore.
- Enemy item drop sell values higher so you have more money to spend.
- Better/more varied elemental attacks based on the elements.
One thing I want to address though is the % chance to hit. That's based on the characters' speed value (between 1-25) and the base accuracy (75%). So what happens when a character attacks is that they have a chance to hit of (speed + 75)%. I think that you missing three times in a row is just down to bad luck.
Anyway, thanks for the response. Any feedback we get we're going to use to make a better sequel. Hopefully this doesn't seem like an empty promise and we can deliver a game that you'll consider a big improvement.
If you have any further suggestions or plot issues if you finish the game, feel free to drop me a PM so I can make further notes.

It's ok, but there are some serious issues.
1. The story isn't that strong. So there's some bad dude with robots? Ok. The main thing I need from a story is a good connection to the various characters. They should feel distinct, have distinct powers, have traumas and problems in their backstory. I don't feel any connection to any of the characters. I couldn't tell you their names or why they were different.
2. A lack of varied locations. Forests everywhere. No sewers, no ruins, no broken labs. I like seeing lots of pretty enemies, and killing different enemies in those locations.
3. Bad balancing. In general, you should be able to advance through a dungeon, fighting every foe, and survive. After that you should be able to buy enough stuff to replace everything you've lost. That is not at all true here.
4. Rather dull quests. Collect some berries? Say hi to some people? You should have interesting quests that tie in with the storyline.
5. Grind heavy. Pleasure low. The fun of rpgs is seeing arbitrary numbers raise and making your characters better. This game lacks that. It needs 1. Abilities to raise, with AP or something from monsters. 2. Abilities to use, to make combat less dull 3. Passive abilities that you can put on before a battle to change the outcome. 4. Knowledge of the enemy's health so you can see them dying.
As it is, you level up your character and it auto increases their stats. Where's the fun in that? You barely even feel the differences. You should feel the difference when they level up, it should notably different.

This game feels like a slow, difficult, buggy version of Mardek; by now I'm sure you've been compared to that. I'm sure that the story is somehow different but it's very hard to get past how hard it is when it's just the very first part of the game. I just restarted the game to load an old save (because I'm HOPING that when the kids get the XP to level up they'll get elemental attacks) and when I try to load it all I get is a black screen. This game still needs a lot of work, and I'm sure it would be upgraded to a GOOD game if it were to get fixed, but the way it is now isn't very enjoyable. I do hope that you make this game better, because it does have potential.

Can't get the game to start. It finishes loading and says "Press S". Well I've pressed every S on the screen and nothing happens!
But in all seriousness, I can't get the game to start -_-. I've tried collapsing and reloading and nothing seems to fix it. Perhaps the problem stems from using a mac or Safari. Let me know if you find anything.
Hmm, have you tried clicking within the window? Flash can be a bit dodgy if you don't. Otherwise, I'm not sure what the problem could be. If clicking in the window doesn't work, message MSGhero. He's the programmer and I'm sure he'd be able to help you out better than I could.
