My high school offers a Game Development class to its students with a GPA higher than a 70, so that we can learn to make simple games, and become independent human beings who make their own entertainment. Fair enough idea right? Well, do to lack of enrollment, the school downsized the "Gaming Department," taking formerly four classes, Game Development, Game Design, Game Artistry, and Web Game Development, and merging them into two classes: Game Design, and My Game Development. This downsize caused all the former teachers to quit, leaving us with a crazy, 22 year old Jamaican woman who doesn't know anything about gaming and is clearly just using us to get something onto her resume. Her inability to teach us how to code in actionscript, combined with her own inability to teach, resulted in my somewhat perverted view of the class. Earlier today, she forced us to turn in our games , no matter how finished(not at all) and i decided to upload it here, to show you the faults of this class, and of myself.
So here is my result from this class: a barely functional, entirely unfinished game. Part of the criteria was that we would make a game focused on recycling and a fictional soda company called CarbonAde, resulting in a massive vice on my creativity. I hope that it is blammed into oblivion, for that is the fate it deserves.
