This was a bit of a pain to make with school in the way. It's made about a holiday that could be of the future. The animation in this took a very, very long time for me to make. I've been flat out since the open round started. Hopefully you can somewhat see that.
If you're confused, the bit where he shot the bird was suppose to resemble fishing. That's why his gun shot a line, and a robotic hook which caught the bird itself after being shot.
Overall, I'm not happy with the result of the video. I believe I chose the wrong idea, although I am very happy with animation. It's only been about a year since I started getting into animation. This is my second traditional style/technique animation. I guess this is a theme that I struggle with. It seems to me that this theme is best for comedy stuff, and not action.

I enjoyed the smooth integration of 2-D and 3-D parts..

I don't mind a non-comedic piece, that's fine, but the execution of the theme, however left me a little confused. The description helps a lot, but a way to explain it more through the animation would be good, as well. Perhaps have the sportsmen talk more about what their doing, using some sort of expository dialogue.
The animation, I agree, is well-done. The character designs and music were also appealing to me.
