This game is amazing!!! Takes me back to the old days playing the real mario. :) Great job, love the music and all the sound effects. You deserve every one of these 5 stars, I would I could give you a hundred.

Let me just say that I had absolutely no problem with this game's speed. It played at a constant rate the entire time. Maybe you all should stop playing it on laptops.

I will start off by saying this is a great game. I was not originally going to write a review yet as I have not finished the game, however, after looking at some of these reviews I felt I needed to say something.
To start, this is an awesome game. I was about 5 or 6 when my sister and I got an NES for Christmas and the Mario/Duck Hunt cartridge was the only game it came with, so Mario was quite literally the first video game I ever owned. I have grown up playing all sorts of Mario games and even as a 27 year old I still love Mario as much as ever.
Why do I bring all of this up? Because this only factors in a little bit in me saying that I enjoy this game. Sure, its a clone, but if you aren't going to play a game because it's a clone you might as well not play anything that came out after 1993 (with few exceptions). The game is programmed great (aside from the fireball issue and the lag issue others have beaten to death already) and I love the artwork. You make the sprites look almost identical to the originals, but left enough artistic decisions to make this version distinctly yours. Great job on that, really.
Really, the only con I can think of that really keeps me from giving this game a perfect score is the lag. I can deal with the fireball thing, and I don't think the slow down effects game play quite as much as what other people are saying. I think it does take something from the whole experience, but I see it more as when the game slows down out of nowhere it kind of takes you out of the moment mentally, which to me is a big thing.
All and all, this is a pretty solid game. I can see it being lost in the crowd of Mario based games on here, but this is one that should be ranked among the top of them in my opinion. Keep up the good work!
