I liked most of it but I have a few problems. The scene titles seemed a bit too long, the monster was a bit goofy looking honestly, and the ending was just sad; there was just a sadness left with no comfort. That being said, the animation, sound, music, and overall emotion of the piece was great. If you were going for sad, scary, and lonely for the feelings portrayed then good job. Personally I don't like animations with an ending like this, but I can admit that it was worth watching.

The art was fairly well done and the music fit very well with the mood. I thought this was more of a scary story than anything else, though, and the only thing I really thought was creative was the idea of a glowing light monster. I agree that the monster was drawn a bit clumsily and seemed a bit funny, but I found the film scary and sort of sad nonetheless.
I personally don't feel this film is anything super special but it's good nonetheless.

While it was nice visually, and riveting when the scary music kicks in, there was no emotional factor.
I felt sadder when the Yak died as opposed to the other characters.
Perhaps create a connection by showing character development and the interactions between characters. The sister has difficulty building a kite, and the brother helps. The mother is sad about not being able to feed her family and the brother disappears to come back with food he slaved to catch.
Also, the way they overcame the monster had no impact at all. It was a very convenient end. For the triumphant ending, wits and planning could be used. For the heart-drop impact, use sacrifice as a way to overcome the monster just like the Yak (the Yak was the most emotional loss for me), maybe the mother could toss herself over a cliff with the monster to kill it, or the brother has to choose between saving his mother or sister.
Very pretty, but needs more feeling for a film as ethereal as this.

meh, I didn't really like it. if it was 3D instead of 2D it would probably be funner to watch. it couldn't really hold my attention either without any talking or sound effects, and the video started really slowly. It felt kind of unfinished, even though that's just an art approach to it. maybe its just not my thing.
