Revive is a pixelated puzzle platformer in which you defy death, define life, and jump in puddles of syrup.

It is also a spiritual successor (in more ways than one) to a game of mine called Respawn.

Man, this project started small and snowballed into something more complex and personal over time. Four months of care were put into Revive's design, so without giving too much away, I hope you enjoy the ride.

Also, let me know if you find any glitches anywhere, and I will address them when I can!

[List of Fixes]
The Time Trial Run medal point value has been increased, slight changes have been made to the controls (such as pressing UP to jump), the collision detection on forks has been improved, and a couple of problems with the main menu are now gone.

I've heard the controls stick for some people. Not sure what would cause this, so if anyone can provide more details about this (like when it happens, what browser you're using, etc.), let me know.

A video walkthrough is now available: hMHp-E

Excellent game- smooth platformer and great puzzles. Also nice art and music!
Main problem I had was the controls... up could've been jump and it wouldn't have affected the mechanics at all... Also, I didn't realise you could quit to the menu by pressing Q until after restarting the whole game... A pause menu from esc or something like that might be nice.
Minor issue- time trial was much harder than any of the other achievements, so the medal should probably be worth more lol! Only managed it by 0.1 second after a fair few tries! Other than that it wasn't too hard overall... Maybe later levels could use a little more complexity, or just bung in a few more expert rooms!
Only other things I can think of that could add a little might be a level creator or a leaderboard for time trial... but that's not really important cause it's all about the main story and that was great!
Anyway, love the story, and the grapefruits!

Imaginative, addictive, and a joy to play. It's like Portal, but with an exciting twist. I love it.

This game is fascinating. Puzzling, fast=paced, and simply brilliant. The concept of using death to your advantage is amazing. Not to mention a fabulous plot.
However, the Time-Trial Trophy was very. . . irksome. You cannot waste a second in figuring out which stage you are at and remembering what to do in that stage! I used 2 hours of irate playing to get that trophy! Due to personal feelings of absolute RAGE-I mean. . . irritated. . .ness. . . I would've like to remove all stars.
However, (again) those are my personal thoughts due to only one of the medals, and I must recognize how beautifully this game was made. So, I only reduced one.
Now, in all seriousness, LULZ on the boss <( ^o^)>

JonBro responds:

You can technically waste 10 or 15 seconds on the Time Trial, although that's assuming you already have the whole path mapped out in your head, so maybe that's what throws most people off about the Time Trial Run. I appreciate all the kind words and comments :)

Very good!, I would say is a flawless game, not only entertaining but with a good story to follow.
The expert rooms were not so hard, I had more troubles with others, and the most difficult task was to get all the grapefruits.
I hope to play another game from you.

Holy christ is this game hard. Wow. It really strained my noggin a number of times! It's a real stand-up puzzle game you have here Jon, and I never felt like it was anyones fault but my own for being stuck on a puzzle. I was [SPOILERS] slightly dissapointed getting all 19 grapefruits did not present me with a more satisfying ending, but it was amazing nonetheless. One of the greatest flash games I've ever had the pleasure of playing for an hour and a half. Looking forward to more work from you!
