We Played Nintendo

Share Collapse

'We Played Nintendo' is the second volume of Read Only Memory. This video combines the shorts 'Howard & Nester & Metroid', 'Contra with Two Players', 'Take a Key for Coming In', and 'Link's Triumph.' The shorts are bridged together with live action video.

Three of these shorts have previously been released on Newgrounds, but tweaks have been made to all of them aside from 'Link's Triumph.' I hope you enjoy the set. Thanks!

Thanks for the front page, NG!

I love how you brought it back with passion! Kids today won't know what true gaming really was, everything is made easier for them now (blood, sex, and violence). This was imagination bought to life (yeah a little violence) but it helped us think for ourselves.
Anyways, thanks again guys!!!

I finally found it. I've been looking for this for over 4 years, and it's just as good as it was back then. Whenever I look back to my childhood, I wonder about how I managed without the blessings of modern technology. But this makes me remember that all I needed was some imagination, and imagination fuel-like Nintendo.

Shamoozal responds:

Glad you still enjoyed it! I actually have a hard time believing how old this video is now. Thanks!

That was quite a trip

brings back memories, thx :) the animation was very nice and the music made it all come together in a beautiful work of art

I miss the days as a little kid watching my older bro play the NES. Then our family got good amounts of $ and he got all the consoles of the 90s. Then I spent even more of my time watching him play FF7 lol
